We are seeking a temporary Patient Access Specialist for our Health Center in El Centro, California!

This is a full-time position, a temporary full-time role.

The Patient Access Specialist position is a great opportunity to serve our patients in a meaningful way! This is our front desk position in our health centers. A dynamic role that interacts with patients face-to-face all day, verifies insurance, and makes sure they get the care they need.

This role is responsible for all aspects of scheduling and registering patients and most importantly having positive interactions with our patients - so we look for customer service experience and healthcare work experience too!

    • You must have a High School diploma (or equivalent)
    • We also look for 1 year work experience with check-in/registration, or equivalent healthcare experience
    • It's also great if you know about:
    • referral authorization processes
    • insurance industry concepts such as HMO’s, PPO’s, copays, deductibles, coinsurance, healthcare exchanges/ACA, etc.
    • medical billing concepts such as ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT4, HCPCS, etc.
    • customer service experience in any industry a bonus!
