Strategic Account Manager
Alpharetta, GA
School Experience – Sales /
Full-Time /
Hybrid
PlayOn! Sports is growing its digital ticketing business beyond athletics, and our Strategic Account Managers are on the front lines of that growth. This role is a great opportunity for early-career sales professionals to join a mission-driven, fast-paced team and make a direct impact by helping schools modernize ticketing for events like theatre, prom, homecoming, and more.
As a Strategic Account Manager, you’ll own a territory of school and district accounts and be responsible for driving adoption of our digital ticketing solution for non-athletic events. You’ll prospect, run demos, close deals, and ensure schools are set up for success. You’ll work closely with peers and leadership to refine your approach, build market expertise, and help grow one of the company’s most strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who’s eager to learn, loves talking to customers, and is excited to build something new. You don’t need deep EdTech experience, just a growth mindset, strong communication skills, and a desire to win as part of a team.
The Outcomes You’ll Deliver
• Expand digital ticketing adoption by meeting or exceeding sales goals within your assigned territory.
• Increase school satisfaction and repeat usage by helping accounts onboard successfully and understand best practices.
• Support company-wide growth in non-athletic event coverage and revenue, helping PlayOn become the go-to platform for all school events.
In this role, you can expect to
- Manage a book of school and district accounts focused on non-athletic events
- Conduct outbound prospecting to identify opportunities and engage new contacts
- Run sales demos and present solutions tailored to each school’s event needs
- Execute cross-sell and renewal campaigns with existing customers
- Maintain accurate pipeline and activity tracking in Salesforce
- Participate in team trainings and contribute to process improvements
- Collaborate with teammates and leadership to share learnings and refine messaging
- Provide anecdotal feedback from schools to inform product and marketing teams
To thrive in this role, you have
- 1–3 years of sales, account management, or customer-facing experience (SaaS or EdTech a plus, but not required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, goal-oriented mindset and comfort with outbound outreach
- Ability to manage multiple conversations and tasks with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn from feedback and continuously improve
- Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Microsoft Office and Zoom (preferred)
- A passion for helping schools, students, and communities thrive
How You Play
- Ownership over Participation – You take responsibility for achieving holistic outcomes, prioritize key objectives, and adapt quickly when situations require a different approach. You follow through even against the toughest challenges.
- Team over Stars – You are a bridge builder, establishing processes and relationships with teams outside your own. You rally around common goals, find win-win solutions, compromise when necessary, and help others succeed.
- Growth over Comfort – You are driven by a desire to grow and actively seek opportunities to expand your comfort zone, skills, and confidence. You embrace new challenges with curiosity, accepting discomfort and failure as opportunities to learn.
- Fairness over Popularity – You approach decisions with a scientist’s mindset, challenging assumptions and remaining objective. You consider long-term impact over short-term gains, proactively seek others’ perspectives, and manage emotions in decision-making.
