Who is Plenti?

Plenti is a fintech lender, providing faster, fairer loans by leveraging its smart technology. Plenti is a dynamic and innovative business that is growing strongly. By continuing to deliver better customer experiences, Plenti is taking market share from incumbent players in the personal lending, renewable energy, and automotive finance markets.

We are a fast moving and ambitious business that seeks to recruit smart and capable people, who can take ownership of their role to help the business thrive. With over 200 people based in Australia, Plenti is small enough so everyone can make a difference in their role, but we have very big ambitions as a team, as we go about building Australia’s best lender.

Plenti is a founder led business that launched in 2014 and is now listed on the ASX, with annual revenue of over $200 million and a loan portfolio of over $2 billion.

What’s the role?

Plenti Legal Finance is a specialist team that focuses solely on providing loans for people going through divorce and separation to pay their legal fees. We have a strong focus on access to justice and we provide people with the ability to pay their lawyer when they otherwise cannot. We believe everyone has a right to access legal advice, and we’re tackling this problem in a way nobody has done before.

This team is growing rapidly as we continue to build more trusted relationships with lawyers across the country. As a result, we're looking for a case assessor to work as a Legal Finance Associate with our partner law firms and their clients to assess cases and make lending decisions. You will be working closely with borrowers and lawyers to understand the complexities of family law cases and assess them against lending criteria and responsible lending obligations. We are preferably looking for someone with background in finance and law who has an analytical mind.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities

Working with borrowers and lawyers to understand the complexities of cases in order to complete loan applications, and to assess legal circumstances against risk management, lending criteria and responsible lending obligations. Managing compliance on current applications, as well as monitoring risk across the existing loan book. Working closely with the rest of the Legal Finance team, as well as other internal teams within Plenti to support a growing function, to progress loan applications, and to help manage the existing loan book through to successful repayment and loan closure.

To be great at this

You will have some or all of the following:

•Experience in bulk, but complex assessments;
•Legal experience or education (especially family law);
•High attention to detail;
•Willingness to contribute to process improvement.
•Experience in home loans, complex consumer loans or complex insurance claims
•Proven ability to work autonomously in a very fast paced environment
•Excellent verbal communication skills - a strong ability to precisely explain decisions to external and internal stakeholders
•Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills of risk, coupled with sound judgment
