About the role:
The Verification Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, authenticity, and compliance of applicant documents and customer information. They play a crucial role in minimising risk, maintaining regulatory compliance, and validating borrower information. Their responsibilities include ensuring loan approval criteria are met, confirming payment details, and finalising the loan before disbursement to ensure a smooth and secure lending process.

Key Responsibilities:
• Be the escalation point for internal and external stakeholders to ensure verification tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Ensure applicant documentation is reviewed and verified in line with standard operating procedures.
• Proactively identify and report on application discrepancies and anomalies during verification reviews
• Proactively and reactively manage direct communication to broker partners and internal stakeholders with an ability to grasp issues and find appropriate solutions to objections, often pre-emptively
• Conduct quality reviews of customer identification, adhering to all AMF/CTF standards, KYC obligations and company policies.
• Ensure data is entered accurately and efficiently, and matches supporting documentation
• Verify documents to ensure the accuracy of information including payment, asset and encumbrance details
• Identity verification for all consumer applications (including personal loan applications)
• Dealership accreditation/verification/suspension
• Adhere to individual KPIs, including a set target of activities to be completed each day
• Adhere to the team SLA requirements set by the business
• Monitoring and communicating with internal stakeholders through channels/emails/calls
• Proactively conduct outbound phone calls to our broker partners for missing/incomplete application information
• Become champions of all products that come through settlements including auto and renewable applications and specifications
• Autonomously make risk decisions where appropriate on applications to ensure ease of process while simultaneously adhering to compliance and business requirements

Key Qualifications:
• 1+ year/s in finance/automotive industry desirable but not required
• Demonstrated experience in AML/CTF and KYC obligations will be highly regarded
