Position Summary
The Project Risk Analyst will assist in identifying, analyzing, and quantifying risks that may impact project cost, schedule, or performance, primarily in support of infrastructure and construction-related projects. This role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to build foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in risk management while supporting project teams and senior staff with day-to-day analysis and reporting tasks.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of risk registers using risk management software tools.
- Support the preparation of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including probabilistic modeling and what-if scenario analysis.
- Help evaluate potential internal and external risk factors, including financial, operational, market, and regulatory risks.
- Perform basic statistical analysis to support risk forecasting and reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of risk reports and summaries for use by project managers and leadership teams.
- Work closely with schedulers, cost engineers, and project managers to support risk integration with project schedules and cost estimates.
- Participate in risk workshops, assisting facilitators with note-taking, stakeholder coordination, and documentation.
- Support the incorporation of progress data into risk model updates and assist in identifying trends or anomalies in risk performance.
- With guidance, help review contract documents to extract relevant risk obligations and integrate them into project risk strategies.
- Assist in monitoring risk mitigation efforts and ensure alignment with company policies and client requirements.
- Begin to build knowledge of advanced risk management theories, modeling techniques, and commercial risk software (e.g., @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 0–4 years of experience in risk analysis, project controls, cost engineering, or related analytical roles (internship experience welcome).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and an interest in learning risk software tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn technical concepts and apply critical thinking to real-world challenges.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered in lieu of stated minimum qualifications.
$62,400 - $106,080 a year
The salary range for this position is $62,400 - $106,080.
A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual’s scope of relevant experience and geographic location.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
