Position Summary

PMA seeks an Assistant Project Manager for ongoing projects in the North Boston area. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing PMA Owner’s Project Management (OPM) team and be physically based in the region. This full-time, multi-year position involves supporting project delivery from design through construction and closeout. Responsibilities include managing and coordinating project activities, following up on action items, attending client and stakeholder meetings, generating meeting minutes, assisting consultants and client staff, and preparing progress reports and presentations.

Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and track project activities and deliverables
    • Attend project meetings and produce clear, timely meeting minutes
    • Support and assist project team members (consultants and client staff)
    • Prepare and update project reports, presentations, and documentation
    • Ensure consistent communication and follow-up with stakeholders
    • Perform other duties in support of successful project execution

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field (required)
    • 1–5 years of experience supporting capital or municipal construction projects
    • Experience with public sector design and construction projects strongly preferred
    • Full-time availability, Monday through Friday (required)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and interpret design documents and specifications
    • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required)
Additional Requirements
 
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
 
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
