We are seeking a Software Engineer Analyst to join our consultancy and contribute to the delivery of tailored, high-impact software solutions for our clients. This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented, early-career technologist who is eager to grow their skills in software development, technical analysis, and client delivery. You will work closely with senior engineers and consultants to analyze client needs, design solution components, and support the development and implementation of software solutions.

As a Software Engineer Analyst, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into actionable technical tasks, contributing to the design and development of software applications, and supporting testing, deployment, and documentation efforts.  This role offers a unique opportunity to build your technical expertise, gain exposure to full lifecycle implementations, and collaborate within a fast-paced, client-focused consulting environment.

Responsibilities

Solution Support & Development:
Collaborate with senior engineers and analysts to understand client business needs and contribute to the design of effective technical solutions 
Assist in implementing software components that align with defined solution architecture and business requirements 
Translate functional specifications into clean, efficient, and testable code under the guidance of more experienced team members 

Technical Execution & Quality Assurance:
Participate in code reviews, testing efforts, and debugging activities to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software deliverables 
Follow established development practices, coding standards, and documentation procedures to support maintainability and scalability 
Support deployment activities and monitor applications post-release to help resolve issues and optimize performance 

Collaboration and Learning:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers, analysts, and client stakeholders to support project delivery 
Take ownership of assigned tasks, communicate progress effectively, and contribute to team meetings and retrospectives 
Seek feedback and actively engage in learning opportunities to develop technical proficiency and consulting capabilities in a fast-paced environment 

Required Qualifications
B.A. or B.S. in computer science engineering (or equivalent degree or experience)
0-2 years of work experience
Understanding of core computer science concepts such as data structures and algorithms
Proficiency with Python programming language
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly to changing project requirements

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with web development frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, Node.js)
Basic knowledge of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and querying techniques
Exposure to version control systems, preferably Git
Ability to break down complex programs into manageable tasks
Demonstrated initiative through academic projects, internships, and/or personal coding projects
A growth mindset and genuine interest in solving real-world problems with technology

Job-Specific Requirements
Ability to travel to client site; may require up to 80% travel dependent on project
Ability to work from home
Ability to work non-standard work hours as necessary

Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary range for this role is $56,500-$112,500 USD per year. This salary range is provided as required by local and state law as applicable. Individual salaries vary on a number of factors including but not limited to geography, skills, education, experience and unique qualifications where applicable.
 
Bonuses are awarded at Point B’s discretion and are based upon individual contributions and overall firm performance.
