**Travel to Office expectations**
For Remote Roles: As this role is remote, there will be in-office events that will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office. These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual team meetings.

For Hybrid Roles: As this role is Hybrid, there will be an expectation to reside within commutable distance to the office/location specified in the job listing. This will include, but not limited to, weekly/bi-weekly/monthly events in the office with your specific team. This is a requirement for this role.

Who you’ll work with:
You’ll join a high-energy team of Engineers who have the opportunity to directly impact the success of the Acute and Payer organization. You’ll report to one of our Managers of Software Engineering and collaborate closely with Product, Quality Assurance, and DevOps. We are a team that values creativity, curiosity, and forward-looking thinking — where strong engineering skills meet the drive to bring new approaches and ideas to life.
 
What you’ll be doing day to day:
-Designing, building, and supporting software in impactful and innovative ways
-Driving collaboration through sprint planning, retrospectives, and peer reviews
-Tackling complex integrations across distributed systems
-Ensuring reliability, scalability, and security in solutions
-Supporting teammates in implementing new technologies and patterns
-Translating business needs into working, real-world technology solutions
-Owning coding tasks, testing, and issue resolution with accountability

Skills and experience we’re looking for:
-3+ years of professional software development experience
-Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE (preferred)
-Hands-on experience in Agile development environments
-Strong proficiency with Java and Spring-based services
-Comfort with RESTful APIs and distributed architectures
-Solid experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, e2e)
-Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
-Front-end development exposure: Angular, JavaScript, CSS, HTML
-Database integration experience: MySQL, Hibernate, myBatis, Spring Data
-Strong working knowledge of IntelliJ and Git

Highly desirable skills and interests:
-Experience with Azure Cloud services and interest in building scalable cloud-native solutions
-Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM templates) to provision and manage resources
-Hands-on use of CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for automation and delivery
-Curiosity and practical application of AI-powered code assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) in day-to-day engineering

$116,400 - $125,200 a year
At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The US base salary range for this position is $116,400 - $125,200 + bonus + benefits, non-overtime eligible. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
