**Travel to Office expectations**
For Remote Roles: As this role is remote, there will be in-office events that will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office. These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual team meetings.
For Hybrid Roles: As this role is Hybrid, there will be an expectation to reside within commutable distance to the office/location specified in the job listing. This will include, but not limited to, weekly/bi-weekly/monthly events in the office with your specific team. This is a requirement for this role.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a Principal AI Architect, reporting to the Director – Enterprise Architecture, to work with cross-functional business teams, technical delivery as well as senior executives to drive and design and mature AI CoE. As an AI architect you will lead, own and govern the vision, roadmap, use of architecture design patterns, data tools and principles that align to the overarching IT Strategy and optimally serve their respective domain. The ideal candidate will consult and collaborate cross-organizationally to support delivery of end-to-end capabilities. They own, report, and consult on the overall health and corresponding risks of the technical domain. We are seeking a candidate who has great breadth and depth of experience when it comes to developing business relationships and ensuring technology alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Execute the strategic vision for the Enterprise Architecture practice under the guidance of leadership.
•Architect and develop agentic IT capabilities that enhance business operations, workload orchestration, and user-facing automation.
•Build LLM-powered agents to meet various external and internal use cases using MS Copilot studio, Salesforce Agentforce.
•Design orchestration flows using frameworks and platforms like Agentforce, CoPilot, LangGraph, CrewAI, or LangChain, enabling agents to collaborate across tasks and systems.
•Implement grounding strategies using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) tied to internal documentation, knowledge articles, cases, DWH, etc.
•Work closely with application teams and business partners, infrastructure and automation teams to embed agents within existing systems and tools.
•Lead design patterns and technical guidance for agent lifecycle management, service reliability, and platform governance.
•Collaborate with domain architects, engineers, and leaders to develop technical standards, reference architectures, design patterns, opinion papers, and architecture decision frameworks that guide technology solutions, especially those requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the business.
•Manage the architecture review process by creating validation checklists, reviewing architectural artifacts, and providing domain specific guidance to drive architectural alignment across the enterprise.
•Design and develop effective and efficient end-to-end solutions for complex business problems.
•Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meet operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.
•Conduct research and develop Proof of Concepts on emerging technologies and implementation toolkits in support of anticipated development efforts and recommend technologies that are functionally robust and cost effective.
•Research, enforce, and drive the adoption of design patterns throughout the enterprise and evangelize standard processes for solution design and development.
•Contribute to producing target state solution architectures, conducting architectural assessments and gap analyses, and shaping the overall solution strategy and roadmap
•Collaborate with business leaders to create business capability models that align technology capabilities with business needs
•Contribute to building a vibrant ‘learning community’ within the enterprise architecture discipline, fostering continuous improvement and consistently delivering value to various business units
Required Experience & Skills:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
•5+ years of experience in AI/ML, software engineering, or intelligent systems, with at least 2 years in LLM-based or agentic AI development.
•Proficiency in Python, with experience building backend systems, APIs, and containerized services.
•Hands-on experience with LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Anthropic, and techniques like RAG and prompt engineering.
•Familiarity with agent orchestration tools (LangGraph, CrewAI, LangChain, AutoGen, etc.).
•Prior experience as a Principal Architect in a global organization
•Experience with planning and leading architecture delivery for large-scale business and systems transformation programs is a must
•Proven track record of successfully leading large scale initiatives from concept to delivery in various AI Platforms like Micosoft CoPilot, Salesforce Agentforce.
•Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
•Architecture Certifications on Azure, TOGAF and Salesforce Technical Architect preferred
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills
•Previous roles with a focus on data architecture, application or solution architecture, integration, risk management, and technology standards
•Strong understanding of security architecture principles and practices
•Proven experience in business capability modeling and translating business needs into technology solutions
$173,000 - $190,000 a year
