Precise knowledge of location is required for sophisticated automotive, robotics, industrial and agricultural applications. Point One has modernized and simplified how this technology is integrated and can be leveraged in our customer’s solutions to optimize for accuracy, reliability, scalability. 


As a Field Applications Engineer, you will be a technical consultant for our customers, working closely with them to integrate Point One’s cloud services and sensor fusion software in automotive and robotics applications. You will be responsible for providing technical support through all stages of the design process, influencing customer designs, and providing feedback for product improvements.  In this role, you have the opportunity to work across engineering and sales teams, and contribute significantly to Point One’s growth.

Responsibilities:

    • You will represent Point One’s commitment to solve customer problems with attentive technical expertise.
    • You will work closely with customers to integrate Point One’s sensor fusion systems into customer systems and platforms.
    • You will provide design and debug support for prospective or existing relationships with on-sites visits or remotely.
    • You will work closely with Point One’s product and R&D teams to validate and optimize performance of navigation algorithms and systems in end customer applications. 
    • We will lean on you to nurture and own the technical relationship with key engineering teams at end customers and ecosystem partners. 
    • You will work closely with customer engineering teams to understand their technical system requirements and recommend solutions and integration processes.
    • You will influence Point One’s product roadmap, specifications and features based on insight from customer goals and requirements.
    • You will develop / customize APIs or HW dev platforms and collateral such as user guides, application notes, white papers.

Requirements:

    • You have professional experience in some of the following areas: 
    • High precision GNSS and RTK
    • Inertial navigation solutions/application
    • Sensor fusion for robotics or automotive systems
    • Embedded software applications, HW /SW systems integration
    • Python, C++ and Linux programming, ROS, AUTOSAR
    • Customer-facing experience

    • You have a strong understanding of how robotics systems are built, and insight on managing embedded SW system integrations. 
    • You have a curiosity that often manifests in understanding technology "under the hood", and have a knack for understanding technical concepts.
    • You are a customer focused hands-on problem-solver and thoughtful communicator
    • You are organized, driven and have the ability to switch context quickly throughout the day.
    • You’re a life-long learner - you enjoy digesting new information and sharing that knowledge with others

Experience/Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (EE, Computer Science or related degree)
    • 3+ years of experience in a similar position with 5+ years of progressive experience supporting technical products.
Organizational relationships:
Reports to Director of Sales. Works closely with other FAEs and members of the Sales Team. Coordinates activities with Engineering, Operations and Product Management teams.
