The Delivery Enablement (DE) team powers Portage Point’s growth as a scalable, high-quality operational backbone. Including Coverage, Data Analytics, Delivery Excellence, Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations and Talent Acquisition, the DE team drives excellence, efficiency and automation across every practice line.
 
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)  role at Portage Point represents a unique opportunity to assume a wide range of responsibilities and make a significant impact.  The HRBP will report to the Head of Human Resources and work alongside the COO and other firm leaders to lead performance management, drive employee engagement and help shape a values-driven culture. This HRBP is passionate about building exceptional employee experiences, based in Chicago, Dallas or New York and has at least six years of experience in professional services, investment banking or private equity. Responsibilities

    • Lead onboarding efforts for new team members, partnering with the HR team to enhance acclimation experience and to develop a tailored executive onboarding program
    • Collaborate on employee engagement strategies that align with business goals, including end-to-end support of the annual engagement survey including design, launch, results analysis and action planning
    • Drive mid-year and year-end performance management cycles, including the development and refinement of competency frameworks across practice lines
    • Partner with Learning & Development to support the delivery of impactful learning experiences that foster growth and capability building
    • Cultivate strong relationships with Practice Line Leaders (PLLs), functional leaders and team members to deliver a high-touch, high-impact talent experience
    • Provide strategic HR advisory support to PLLs and managers on performance management, employee relations and team effectiveness
    • Own and optimize offboarding processes, manage leaves of absence and oversee workers’ compensation administration
    • Manage immigration processes and ensure compliance with labor laws, including updates to policies and the employee handbook
    • Support HR data reporting and compliance audits (e.g., I-9, FLSA, EEOC), contributing to regulatory submissions and internal reviews
    • §Champion operational excellence by streamlining HR processes, leveraging automation and AI to drive efficiency and scalability
    • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members as needed 
    • Share and manage best practices and support internal trainings where required
    • Contribute to creating a high-performing and inclusive culture

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program in HR or a related field
    • Six plus years of HR experience within professional service, investment banking or private equity; at least four years in an HRBP role or similar
    • Located in or willing to relocate to Chicago, Dallas or New York
    • Invested in a team-based culture motivated to collaborate in office four days per week

    • Proven ability to lead performance management cycles, including competency framework development and implementation
    • Experience designing and executing employee engagement initiatives, including survey management and action planning
    • Strong understanding of HR compliance, including labor laws, immigration and regulatory reporting (I-9, FLSA, EEOC)
    • Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding processes
    • Passion for process improvement, automation and leveraging AI to enhance HR operations
    • Experience with HR tools and systems; exposure to Lattice (performance management system) is a plus 
    • Strong executive presence and communication skills
    • Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
    • High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
    • Track record of success in high-pressure environments
$150,000 - $200,000 a year
The City of New York and the State of California require Portage Point to provide compensation for this role. This range represents the anticipated minimum and maximum cash compensation for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant’s qualifications (education, training and / or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
