Portage Point is currently seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) to strengthen our operational backbone and drive continued growth. The COO role at Portage Point represents a unique opportunity for a highly-capable professional to assume a wide set of responsibilities and make a significant impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The COO will focus on all aspects of scaling a national professional services organization including developing and implementing overall growth strategy, internal and client-facing standard operating procedures, client deliverable roadmaps, business process optimization and technology enablement. 

Responsibilities

    • Oversee daily operations and coordinate with functional leads
    • Evaluate firm performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
    • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
    • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
    • Develop and lead operational reporting
    • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
    • Lead team members encouraging maximum performance and dedication
    • Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.)
    • Manage relationships with partners / vendors where necessary

Qualifications

    • Proven experience as COO or practice line operations leader in a professional services environment
    • Proven history of guiding businesses through high growth phases
    • Understanding of business functions such as HR, finance, marketing, IT
    • Competency in strategic planning and business development
    • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance / operation metrics
    • Working knowledge of IT / business infrastructure
    • High degree of maturity with a proven ability to interact with management, team members and external partners
    • Effectively communicates analysis through Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint including high-quality messaging, structure and formatting
    • Ability to successfully work in a small, collaborative team environment
    • Eagerness to be responsive at all times
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong e-mail etiquette
    • Top-tier organizational and project management skills and attention to detail
    • Self-starter and entrepreneurial in nature
    • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
