About You:
We're seeking a proactive and hands-on Finance Manager to drive and execute our financial strategy and ops at Portcast. This individual contributor role requires a dynamic individual who not only excels in overseeing the finance function but also thrives on executing tasks independently. You will be directly reporting to the CEO and will be our go-to finance expert, responsible for both strategic financial leadership and day-to-day financial operations while also taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support our evolving needs.
Your Role:
- Lead our financial strategy, aligning it with our business objectives and growth plans.
- Oversee and manage profit and loss (P&L), revenue forecasting, and expense control.
- Collaborate closely with function heads to allocate budgets and support strategic initiatives.
- Drive financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to monitor these metrics, identify underlying business issues, and define unit economics, projections, and cost optimization strategies.
- Work with the CEO to structure and present key financial metrics to investors on a monthly basis.
- Develop and manage a cross-functional metrics dashboard to track KPIs month-on-month.
- Provide strategic financial counsel to the team and leadership.
- Establish financial models and business cases to aid in the decision-making process.
- Prepare reports and handle financial due diligence.
- Partner with the accountant to establish and maintain robust accounting processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to optimize financial processes and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and financial best practices.
To thrive in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- At least 5+ years of progressive work experience in finance, with experience in finance strategy and ops roles.
- Experience in a product-based startup, preferably in B2B SaaS.
- Experience in taking ownership of the finance function.
- Experience in establishing financial processes and frameworks from the ground up.
- Proven track record of developing and executing financial models & strategies in an early stage startup environment.
- Proven experience in KPI Analysis & Decision Making per Function, P&L, FP&A, Budgeting & Forecasting, Finance documentation & processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Comfortable working independently and thrives in a lean & small, fast-paced team environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of the finance function and process, capable of working autonomously and driving results without constant oversight.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
