Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Agile IT Project Manager with excellent management skills to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. Reporting to the VP of IT, the Agile IT Project Manager will be designing and executing Agile project plans, putting together initiative, departmental, and project-based Scrum teams following agile frameworks to see deliverables through to successful completion.

As the acting Scrum Master, they will be an agile mentor for the PPLA technology team, providing guidance and training on agile methodologies and ensuring team engagement, collaboration, success and continuous improvement while delivering high-quality solutions with a focus on strong cross functional relationships across the organization.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • B.S. degree HIT, MIS, Computer Science or related field, or additional four years of equivalent IT experience in lieu of degree
    • Certified Scrum Master or other related certifications, or 7+ years’ equivalent in experience in lieu of certification
    • Demonstrated experience and leadership in building and leading high-performing, high-energy Agile teams
    • 5+ years’ experience project management using Agile frameworks
    • 5+ years’ experience leading cross-functional teams
    • 5+ years’ experience as a Scrum Master
    • 3+ years’ experience in the healthcare industry (ambulatory or inpatient)
    • 1+ year experience as a Product Owner 
    • High proficiency in use of Agile, team, and project management tools
    • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and written and oral communication skills

About the position:

    • Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
    • Create technical project charters, maintain and organize project documentation, and ensure a consistently real-time and accurate Kanban board for all projects across multiple Scrum teams.
    • Design, apply, and lead necessary Agile frameworks to projects and processes such as SAFe, DSDM, FDD, and others as best suited for the initiative. 
    • Coach and encourage high-energy, disciplined Scrum teams to consistently produce high-quality, iterative deliverables.
    • Encourage and support the IT teams to build, manage, and maintain real-time and prioritized product and sprint backlogs.
    • Organize and lead Scrum and project meetings, including standups, backlog grooming sessions, sizing and estimation exercises, retrospectives, Agile coaching meetings, and project meetings as needed.
    • Organize and lead stakeholder engagement meetings including demo and backlog review sessions, product and story grooming sessions, and cross-functional project meetings including members across PPLA and vendor partners.
    • Act as a leader in promoting Agile methodologies throughout the organization by demonstrating success within the IT department and engaging stakeholders in the process.
    • Act as a key change agent in the organization in promoting and standardizing project management tools, processes, frameworks, and communication to maximize organization efficiency, collaboration, and team spirit.
    • Drive technical team-building activities to build team spirit, resilience and grit in order to continuously improve deliverables capacity, quality, contribution towards company initiatives, and promote an exceptionally desirable work environment.
    • Create and manage issue logs for visibility, tracking, and accountability to resolution.
    • Organize and lead UAT functions in partnership with stakeholders, SME’s, and end users for project deliverables.
    • Lead expectation management and conflict resolution meetings and exercises between business and technical stakeholders to drive consensus and win-win outcomes for PPLA.
    • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned by the VP of Information Technology.

    • Hiring Range: $115,000 - 138,182 annually (Exempt)
