Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking a Receiving Specialist with excellent customer service skills to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. Responsible for ensuring inventory is managed in receipt, transfer, and shipping. Reports to Senior Supply Chain Manager.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Understanding of truck route scheduling and delivery/shipping processes.
    • Healthcare industry experience a plus.
    • Previous Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
    • Accounting software or ERP software experience preferred.

About the position:

    • Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
    • Manage receiving door, incoming phone calls, and deliver material to appropriate departments and/or individual(s).
    • Complete all PO receiving including tracking all incomplete purchase orders.
    • Report all out of stock or backordered items immediately to Purchasing Manager.
    • Complete all transfer entries of items to other locations.
    • Ensure appropriate level of accountability for materials and with proper inspection.
    • Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolve shipments in error with internal staff.
    • Process returns as assigned.
    • Sort incoming mail and packages/parcels from the US Postal Service and various commercial carriers (UPS, FedEx, Inter-office courier, etc.) using proper security procedures.
    • Create, maintain, and share accurate inventory reports.
