Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Philanthropy Manager with excellent communication and customer service skills to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters.  At PPLA you will have the opportunity to serve a mission you’re passionate about as you build relationships and contribute to our long term vision.  Support both major gifts and campaign fundraising within PPLA’s Development department.  Reporting to and working closely with the Sr. Director, Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Manager will be responsible for duties relative to the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospects in the 4 – 7 figure range.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • A minimum of 3 (three) years’ experience working in Development with a demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of fundraising
    • Experience working within major gifts team and/or non-profit fundraising campaign desirable
    • Strong computer and constituent management skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge (or similar database), Research Point, Wealth Engine, and the Internet
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with donors, board members, prospects, volunteers, and other staff
    • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Los Angeles County
    • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, as required

About the position:

    • Provide high quality staff support to the Philanthropy team in both major gifts and fundraising campaigns
    • Oversee the integrity of all donor portfolio information for the Philanthropy team as entered into Raiser’s Edge using the established Development guidelines
    • Lead and manage monthly Group Prospect Strategy meeting, report out on team metrics, and track pledges and upcoming solicitations
    • Partner with the Sr. Director, Philanthropy to coordinate all administrative tasks within major gifts and the fundraising campaigns
    • Provide project management support to assure that campaign activity objectives are met including feasibility interviews, pipeline reviews, prospect tracking, gift tracking, campaign committee meetings, tours, and research
    • Create and edit campaign communications, such as acknowledgments, follow-up letters, impact reports, and newsletters
    • Liaise with other teams in the management and oversight of fundraising and stewardship events within the Philanthropy team
