Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director with excellent communication and customer service skills to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters.  The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director will oversee the development and implementation of programs and services that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout PPLA’s workplace culture.  Measure, monitor, and leverage company diversity data and metrics, and partner with and support each department to create and sustain a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion within and across our teams.  This role will interface with employees at all levels to foster an environment of collaboration, high performance standards, learning and continuous improvement.  Serve as a consultant to management to strengthen cohesion within and among departmental strategies and priorities.  Report to the VP, Human Resources and partner with the HR team to ensure that all stages of the employee lifecycle are in line with the Agency’s DEI strategy and priorities.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development preferred, or equivalent combination of training and work experience
    • At least seven (7) years of experience as a subject matter expert within the diversity, equity, and inclusion discipline required
    • At least seven (7) years of experience within the Human Resources function required
    • SHRM-CP preferred
    • Healthcare experience preferred
    • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
    • Broad thinking and perspective of current diversity, equity, and inclusion trends and change management best practices

About the position:

    • Utilize data and metrics to measure, monitor, and inform PPLA’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy and efficacy
    • Ensure that PPLA’s agency-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion framework, vision, goals, and practices are aligned
    • Develop and manage impactful diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, practices, and engagement while adhering to all compliance and regulatory requirements
    • Communicate risks and issues; manage mitigation plans accordingly
    • Influence the organization’s culture by establishing operating norms and routine tools and practices for all staff
    • Influence multiple and varied stakeholders at various levels across the organization to achieve inclusion, equity, and diversity goals
    • Reinforce the programs by measuring results and ensuring accountability
    • Deliver annual diversity report to be distributed internally and externally
    • Prepare presentations for agency-wide events/meetings
    • Serve as DEI brand ambassador by elevating themes and messages within our internal strategy, and to potential recruits
    • Build an internal and external network to further knowledge and awareness of industry trends which can in turn influence and facilitate organizational change
    • Collaborate with the VP, Human Resources and VP, Strategy and Advocacy to create and implement DEI strategies and success measures with a direct line of communication to the CEO and COO
    • Collaborate with Training department to create and implement DEI learning experiences. Actively engage with employees and create effective feedback loops around DEI efforts and help to build the path forward for a foundational DEI program and expanding talent management efforts
