Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Facilities Attendant with excellent construction service skills to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters.  The Facilities Attendant ensures all building maintenance and repairs are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Schedule is Tuesday - Saturday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM 7.5 total hours per shift, 37.5 hours total per week (full-time).
HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Repairs/ Replacements, and/or skilled laborer experience highly preferred.

Company truck and gas card included. Not for taking home.

    • If using a personal vehicle to drive for work purposes, a valid CA driver license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.

About the position:

    • Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
    • Ensure all PPLA centers and facilities are in safe, working condition and meet PPLA standards of appearance and comfort.
    • Routinely visit and inspect all PPLA locations and engage Center Managers, proactively addressing issues and ensuring timely completion of all repair orders.
    • Ensure all maintenance logs, service records and work tickets are current, accurate and accessible.
    • Inspect and review 3rd party environmental services and repairs to ensure facilities are maintained to PPLA standards, and are completed within the terms of the Service Level Agreements.
    • As necessary, will personally perform the following types of building maintenance: 1) Painting, 2) Minor wall repairs, 3) Floor maintenance/replacement, 4) Carpet maintenance/replacement, 5) HVAC maintenance, 6) Minor electrical, 7) Minor plumbing, 8) Light Construction, and 9) Furniture, shelving and equipment assembly.
    • Check lunchroom, bathrooms and restock.
    • Grounds Keeping: 1) Sweep/Hose off front entrances and sidewalks, 2) Inspect both parking areas, 3) Water patio plants, 4) Report/Clean any graffiti, and 5) Clean plant beds, pull weeds & water plants.
    • Morning Interior Walk thru: 1) Report any janitorial oversights, 2) Ensure paper towels, toilet paper and cover dispensers are full, 3) Check water bottles upstairs and in lunch room.  Replace as needed, 4) Fill both copier machines with paper or toner as needed, and 5) Report any lights out or maintenance issues.
    • Lunch Room: 1) Clean, prep lunchroom (paper towels, coffee, empty trash & recycling bin), and 2) Check conference rooms.
    • Afternoon Interior Walk thru/Various Tasks: 1) Ensure paper towels, toilet paper and toilet seat cover dispensers are stocked, 2) Check water bottles upstairs and in lunch room.  Replace as needed, 3) Assist in organizing the basement, 4) Run errands to local centers, and 4) Empty blue recycling bins.
    • Assist Inventory & Purchasing Specialist with load delivers if required.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Engineer.
