Planned Parenthood Association of Utah (PPAU) is a non-profit family planning agency and a leader in sexual and reproductive healthcare, advocacy, and education in the state of Utah. We provide high-quality, affordable sexual and reproductive health care for Utahns/people in eight health centers across the state.

In a work team environment performs a variety of clinical and clerical functions.  Job duties include all clinical, financial, clerical, facility maintenance, and training of team members, interns/externs, and volunteers.  Provides information within scope of job duties and training regarding all Planned Parenthood resources, options, and services. Provides quality healthcare and excellent customer service. Provides support to Clinic Coordinator and completes Lead Clinical Assistant duties as assigned.

Job Duties:

    • Represents PPAU in a professional and positive manner when dealing with clients, the public, volunteers, interns/externs, donors and other staff, demonstrating a commitment to quality healthcare and excellent customer service.
    • Utilizes REACT service recovery tool with proficiency.
    • Understands importance of agency and clinic communications.  Will enhance systems to maintain accurate and comprehensive communication between clinic staff and management.
    • Under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator, addresses staff performance issues rapidly in accordance with Agency Personnel Policies
    • Under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator, coordinates/participates in the training of staff to ensure that delivery of services is consistent with protocols.
    • Actively identifies problems and opportunities for improvement within the clinic and Agency.
    • Assures staff understands everyone’s role in reaching productivity levels and that they are maintained.
    • Takes on the responsibility and role of clinic flow facilitator.
    • Will be responsible in assuring end of month duties are completed accurately and timely.
    • Performs all job functions of a clinical assistant with high level of proficiency.
    • Assures staff are using the Conversation tools, engages patients using client-centered education methods to obtain and provide information to patients.
    • Takes lead and supports research projects through patient recruitment and other procedures.
    • Takes lead in maintenance and cleanliness of the facility.
    • Understands their responsibility with cash handling and strives to achieve 100% accuracy in the execution recording of financial transactions.  Will assist staff in daily balancing of personal and clinic closeouts
    • Participates with team members in identifying and improving systems, activities, behaviors, resolving issues, etc. which result in improving quality services. 
    • Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA and PPAU policy.  Understands that confidential conversations may take place with management and will assure confidentiality standards are met.
    • Attend and participate in all required meetings and training sessions.
    • Participates in annual team review process.
    • Demonstrates respect for diversity in daily activities.
    • Meet Agency standards for performance measures and attendance/punctuality.
    • Performs other duties as required or requested.

What we're looking for:

    • Duties are performed in both clinic and community settings.
    • Ability to lift, move and re-stock supplies and other materials, up to 25 lbs.
    • Flexibility to adjust schedule to work days, evenings, and weekends.
    • Repetitive wrist and hand movements to key on computer, answer telephones, and to check vital signs. 
    • Frequently required to move, walk and stand for extended periods.
    • Bilingual preferred, not required
This position is starting at $22.00/hr or Lead Clinical Assistant starting pay is a $2 dollar increase for internal applicants.



At PPAU, we recognize the importance of language skills in serving our community. Upon passing our Spanish proficiency exam, your hourly pay will increase by $1.00 to reflect this essential contribution
