Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates, which operate non-profit health centers across the USA. PPFA also works to educate the public on and advocate for issues of sexual and reproductive health. Formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a separate non-profit membership organization tax-exempt under section 501(c)(4). The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and limited electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education in furtherance of the Planned Parenthood mission.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund seek a Director, Intelligence & Risk Analysis in the Enterprise Protection department of the Safety, Security & Workplace Service division. Enterprise Protection is responsible for establishing operational standards designed to enhance safety & security throughout the organization, at our offices, and for our staff and guests. We partner closely with cross functional groups to ensure that all of our facilities, special events, staff and guests are safe, critical to achieving the organization’s mission through safely accessible sexual reproductive health care.
Purpose:
The Manager of Security Operations will be responsible for day-to-day operational security functions at the National Offices and during PPFA-sponsored events. This role blends protective services responsibilities with operational oversight, ensuring that PPFA staff, executives, visitors, and guests are safe in all environments.
The position requires availability beyond normal business hours, strong coordination with internal and external partners, and the ability to anticipate, assess, and respond to risks in real-time.
Engagement:
This role requires proactive collaboration and communication across PPFA departments and affiliates. The Manager of Security Operations will:
●Provide guidance, training, and real-time updates to staff, leadership, and event teams.
●Influence internal policies and practices related to security and emergency readiness.
●Represent PPFA with external partners, including law enforcement and security vendors.
●Model exemplary customer service, discretion, and professionalism in all interactions.
Delivery:
The Manager of Security Operations will:
●Oversee daily operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC), including staffing, monitoring systems, incident response, and reporting.
●Manage access control, visitor management, and contract guard force services in National Offices.
●Develop, implement, and manage security plans for high-profile special events and conferences, including advances, logistics, vendor oversight, and contingency/emergency planning.
●Coordinate executive protection logistics and manage/assist in protection details as assigned.
●Maintain and improve security operating procedures, protocols, and templates for office and event environments.
●Conduct site assessments, risk analysis, and after-action reviews to continually strengthen protective measures.
●Partner with cross-functional teams (Facilities, Events & Conferences, IT, PC&E, Office of the General Counsel, etc.) to align on risk mitigation and crisis response.
●Prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and updates to the Director of Security, SSWS leadership, and senior executives as required.
●Support and participate in tabletop exercises, training programs, and drills to maintain organizational readiness.
●Build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement, emergency services, peer security organizations, and event vendors.
●Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
●4 years of progressive experience in security operations, protective services, and/or event security management.
●Bachelor's degree preferred.
●Demonstrated ability to manage both day-to-day security operations and high-profile special events.
●Direct experience conducting security assessments, managing access control, and coordinating emergency response.
●Proven executive protection and special event security experience (law enforcement, military, or private sector background preferred).
●Familiarity with security technology platforms (access control, cameras, visitor management, mass notification, travel safety).
●Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to brief senior executives clearly and concisely.
●Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED (preferred) and trained in emergency preparedness.
●Demonstrated ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under stress.
●High ethical standards, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.

Travel: 20% - 40%
$93,000 - $98,500 a year
