Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.

The Stronger Change Office (Stronger) is an affiliate-driven health care transformation office designed by, for, and with affiliate leadership across the country. We are focused on strengthening affiliates and facilitating the innovation needed to build the Planned Parenthood of the future.

Stronger  seeks an experienced and innovative Senior Analyst to support Stronger’s Standards of Excellence (SOE) initiative. The Standards of Excellence team supports Planned Parenthood affiliates to achieve excellent performance in the areas of clinical quality, operations, finance, and patient experience. 

This role will provide analytic support and thought partnership to affiliate stakeholders on SOE quality improvement initiatives and enable evidence-driven decision-making to improve performance across the Federation through the acquisition, support, and use of data and analytic reports and tools.

This job reports to the Associate Director, SOE Analytics and Data Strategy in the Stronger Change Office at PPFA. It is a dynamic role that will evolve based on the needs and priorities collectively identified by Stronger affiliates.

Purpose: 
The Standards of Excellence Senior Analyst advances Planned Parenthood’s mission by supporting SOE analytics and data related projects that enable Planned Parenthood affiliates to provide excellent SRH access and care for patients. They will analyze clinical, operational, and financial data, present findings, and develop technical and user-facing reports, materials and data visualizations. They will identify possible roadblocks and recommend possible solutions for how to resolve them. 

Delivery: 
In this role we are looking for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys working with data, and isn’t afraid to ask questions. They should be able to act independently while knowing when to ask for guidance or direction. They should also be comfortable working with sensitive information, including data about abortion. They need to create and manage effective timelines, sustain the delivery of our services, and incorporate adjustments as needed to accommodate changing demands. 

Broadly, this individual will:
●Work within established processes on varied tasks to achieve high quality objectives with minimal guidance and consistently deliver on commitments on time and to an exceptional standard
●Take initiative by iterating on existing processes, identify problems (as well as potential solutions) within existing processes

Specifically, this individual will:
●Prepare and deliver timely and accurate analytical input, data reports and visualizations to support SOE quality improvement initiatives. 
●Analyze a variety of data sources (e.g. patient data, public health data, etc.) using analytical/BI tools such as Tableau, STATA, SQL and other tools. 
●Implement and maintain data workflows, validation processes, standardization and pipelines to optimize outputs and reports leveraging diverse data systems, EHRs and software. This role will require cleaning and merging data collected across multiple data sources with distinct data classification systems and data types. 
●Visualize and translate complex data into actionable insights and compelling storytelling to support decision making including conducting health equity analysis for affiliates seeking to disaggregate data to track outcomes by race, gender, and sexual orientation.
●Design data collection templates based on desired analytic objectives and affiliate data availability. Under the direction of the Associate Director, this role will require the development of data submission guidance and oversight for affiliates. 
●Assist affiliates and partner with national office staff in providing data and analytic capacity to make and implement data-driven decisions related to quality improvement activities.

Engagement:  This role will require collaboration within the SCO team and across various departments at the National Office. It will also interact with affiliate staff on specific projects, under the guidance of their supervisor, the Associate Director, SOE Analytics and Data Strategy and other SCO staff and leadership. They will be a strong communicator, an enthusiastic learner, and self-driven, with an interest in how to analyze and present data to various audiences, including non-technical users.

●Clearly explain and document workflows and processes to stakeholders and inform SOE and SCO teams of regular updates and action items through internal and external communications. 
●Engage with diverse stakeholders across affiliates on researching and identifying deliverables, timeframes, and expectations regarding consultative support.
●Consult with and present to internal and external partners by training end-users and providing technical support, service, and education to audiences of varying data literacy including non-technical users.
●Translate data workflow and analysis into operational insights and strategic actions/interventions.
●Collaborate with SOE staff to design and implement effective, actionable data reports and visualizations to support QI activities and projects. Research information that supports analysis and provides depth and relevance to quality improvement intervention implementation and analysis. Make the project team aware of remedial solutions to align requirements to changing demands.
●Communicate through attending and presenting at meetings/webinars. Due to the consultative nature of the role, the Senior Analyst must have exemplary customer service skills, a positive “can do” attitude, and a demonstrated track record directly helping people implement data and analytic products.

TECHNICAL SKILLS / EXPERTISE:
●Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
●At least 3 years of professional experience conducting strategic data analysis and delivering that data in actionable insights required; at least 1 year experience in health care required
●At least 3 years of data management experience including experience importing, cleaning, validating, and transforming data required
●At least 1 year of experience supporting quality or process improvement activities required
●At least 1 year experience creating data visualizations in Tableau, PowerBI or similar business intelligence tool(s) required
●Experience designing workflows and templates for data collection required
●Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
●Proficiency in Google products required
●Familiarity with SQL required
●At least 2 years experience with practice management and electronic health record (EHR) platforms required. Epic and NextGen preferred
●Experience with statistical packages (STATA, SPSS, SAS and/or R) required; experience or interest in learning STATA and R preferred 
●Experience with Asana/Smartsheet or other project management tools preferred
●Experience with survey design and survey dissemination in online platforms (SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics) preferred

Travel: This is a telecommuter position. The Analyst will be expected to spend 10-15%  of time traveling to meet with Stronger affiliates and other key stakeholders.

$80,000 - $85,000 a year
