Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.

Purpose: Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seek a Director, Organizational Effectiveness in the Office of the President (OOP). The Office of the President develops, monitors and supports all organizational priorities and cross-cutting strategies on behalf of the National Office and the Federation. The OOP Team provides support to the President and senior leadership teams, working closely with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure that the President and the work of this organization are on track for success. 
Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff (COS), this role will build and drive programs and projects to improve organizational effectiveness and performance across the Office of the President and the National Office. This leader will oversee critical functions of the Office of the President to ensure effectiveness of Senior Leadership Teams and proper execution of transformative initiatives that impact the strategic goals of the National Office. 
Delivery: The areas of focus for this role will be organizational effectiveness, leadership engagement, and internal communications. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership Engagement and Support
●Direct and execute end-to-end transformative initiatives led by the Office of the President in partnership with divisional leaders
●Design a systematic framework for managing information flow to the President.
●Drive strategic alignment across the Senior Leadership Team by establishing ways of working that focuses on prioritization and seamless execution of organizational goals
●Develop partnership with other internal communication leads, draft  effective internal communications on behalf of the President, Chief of Staff, and Leadership Teams 
●Foster leadership development and change management best practices and interventions that align with the strategic direction set by the National Office.
●Draft leadership team agendas, communications, and manage follow ups.
●Design and manage leadership teams operating cadence. 
●Support the President's standing internal meetings schedule –– cadence, check-in agendas.
●Track performance metrics for organizational objectives and action planning.
●Collaborate with People, Culture & Equity leaders to advise on talent management initiatives and succession planning to build a high-performing team.`
●Design and maintain document retention program for all executive communications with OOP such as records of agendas/meetings/decisions/etc.

Special Projects
●Produce content for monthly all staff meetings to advance org objectives
●Partner with People, Culture, and Equity to lead change management efforts for major organizational initiatives to ensure smooth implementation.
●Collaborate with various stakeholders to communicate changes effectively and foster a positive and adaptive organizational culture.
●Produce content for the Board meetings and partner with the Board Affairs team and leaders across the organization on all matters concerning the President and any related engagement or preparation with Boards and Committees.
●Deploy to lead special priority projects on behalf of the OOP.

COS Support
●Maintain the Chief of Staff’s action list.
●Develop systems and engagement opportunities for COS to stay informed of organizational priorities as well as staff interests, ideas, and issues.

OOP Team Leadership
●Partner with the DCOS and AD, OOP Operations to create opportunities for team alignment, goal setting, and development
●Lead OOP strategic planning
●Plan OOP team meetings and retreats

Engagement: This role works cross functionally with leaders in the National office and will work closely with: the Chief of Staff; President and CEO; members of the Office of the President; The Executive Leadership Team; Board of Affairs; People, Culture, and Equity; Office of the Chief Operating Officer; and Strategy team. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
●Minimum 7 years of experience in internal organizational effectiveness consulting, change management, strategic planning, industrial/organizational psychology or related fields. 
●Experience managing portfolios of work in complex environments.
●Experience in transformational change and developing complex organizational design. 
●Strong managerial and interpersonal skills.
●Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management and c-suite executives.
●Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments and operate in a collaborative and highly matrixed environment, and have experience sustaining a sense of order and structure to deliver great results.
●Ability to identify priorities, work independently and develop tactics for addressing issues or requests 
●Exceptional attention to detail and ability to learn and execute quickly.
●A proven track record of building strong relationships with multiple high-level stakeholders, including candidates, donors, board members, campaign staff, party committees, partner organizations, and cross-team colleagues, based on effective interpersonal skills.
●Commitment and track record of advancing racial equity in both operations and communications.
●Ability to drive change in a consensus-oriented environment. 
●Demonstrated ability to multitask, learn and process information quickly, and exercise good judgment when dealing with a wide variety of people. 
●Aptitude to ensure issues are addressed properly, efficiently and judiciously, and keep track of progress until resolved.
●Effective, versatile and action-oriented.
●Excellent communication skills.
●BA preferred. MA a plus.

TRAVEL: approximately 20%

$144,000 - $153,000 a year
