We are seeking a Director, IT Enterprise Business Systems Owner who will report to the VP, IT Enterprise Systems & Application Development in the IT department of PPFA.
This is a hybrid in-office position which will require the selected individual to work in either our NYC or our DC office 2 days per week.
Purpose:
The Director, IT Enterprise Business Systems Owner, will be a key leader within the IT Enterprise Business Systems & Application Development department responsible for planning and overseeing the delivery of highly usable and responsive end user solutions in line with the vision, goals, and standards of our department and organization.
The Director specifically acts as the technical system owner and IT business liaison to our key stakeholders. The Director’s overarching goal is to provide users an exceptional experience by crafting and maintaining an environment where our users feel cared for and can perform at their best. They organize and provide a coherent set of service offerings to support, manage, and administer our enterprise business systems. The Director is responsible for understanding user needs, designing roadmaps to fulfill these needs, and executing on that vision to drive the best possible outcomes for their stakeholders. An empathetic and customer service oriented mindset, strong leadership and communication skills, and willingness to learn are essential qualities to thrive in this role.
Engagement:
The Director, IT Enterprise Business Systems Owner serves as a strategic liaison between the IT department, end users, and vendors, ensuring seamless collaboration across key stakeholders, including Planned Parenthood business units, Data Architecture, Information Security, Project & Portfolio Management, Engineering, and IT Operations & Infrastructure. This role works closely with the Technology Strategy and Services teams, People, Culture & Equity, Learning & Development, and other departments to align the Learning Management System and Intranet with employee needs and organizational objectives. Additionally, the Director oversees vendor relationships and partnerships for third-party software and services related to these systems. They also provide expert guidance and support to staff and department leaders to optimize the effective use of our enterprise business systems.
Delivery:
Platform Strategy & Planning:
• Understand user needs to ensure enterprise systems deliver value and align with business goals.
• Conduct user research to identify and prioritize system enhancements.
• Lead roadmap planning and backlog management, setting priorities and driving key initiatives.
• Oversee the configuration and deployment of system modules and features, ensuring they meet business requirements.
• Design efficient workflows with business owners to streamline operations and enhance usability.
• Monitor and analyze trends to keep platforms modern and effective. Provide recommendations for new tools and platforms that enhance system functionality and business operations.
• Identify opportunities to integrate systems and automate manual processes, driving efficiencies and reducing operational overhead.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, including legal, security, and privacy standards.
Platform Operations:
• Maintain detailed operational runbooks, including process diagrams and data flows, ensuring accessibility and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate and standardize documentation.
• Continuously improve operational procedures to enhance system performance.
• Oversee the full user lifecycle, from onboarding and training to support and de-provisioning.
• Oversee user training efforts and development of materials, and ensure effective adoption.
• Manage end-user support experience across incidents ensuring escalated tickets are resolved efficiently and ensuring help desk knowledge base is maintained.
• Ensure secure user management and permission structures.
• Support UI/UX for related initiatives and lead agile teams for iterative solution delivery.
• Oversee system upgrades and configurations to maintain security and usability.
Integration & Reporting:
• Recommend and manage system integrations to enhance functionality while ensuring compliance.
• Monitor system usage, define KPIs, and generate reports to drive improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation and system diagrams.
Platform Performance & Security:
• Monitor performance to meet user needs within budget constraints.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure robust measures and address vulnerabilities.
• Manage software licenses and vendor contracts to optimize costs and compliance.
• Oversee vendor performance, ensuring accountability and alignment with organizational needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT business operations and/or project management is required.
• Experience administering enterprise business applications is required.
• Experience with custom software development and/or product design is required.
• Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management is required.
• Experience working in hybrid SaaS environments and custom applications is required.
• Experience with analytics and data analysis applications is required.
• Experience in or basic knowledge of ITIL, ITOps, PMP and agile frameworks is required.
• Knowledge of program and project management techniques and tools such as Google Workspace, Asana, Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, etc. is required.
• Familiarity with development workflows is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with Secure Software Development Lifecycle best practices and standards is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards, (e.g. OWASP, SOX, HIPAA, PCI, NIST) is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with data privacy standards is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with application code security and application integration strategies is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning, logging and monitoring processes is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of program and project management techniques and tools such as Google Workspace, Asana, Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, etc. is required.

Travel: 0-5% travel may be required for this role.
$150,000 - $160,000 a year
