Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seek a dynamic and effective Tax & Compliance Senior Specialist. This job reports to the Director of Tax & Compliance in the Finance Department of PPFA. The Finance Department provides confidence to all stakeholders in the fiscal and fiduciary responsibility of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) and its related entities, and Planned Parenthood Global (PP Global) and its related entities (collectively the Organizations) with a commitment to customer service, sound controls, compliance monitoring, and timely, accurate, and complete reporting, analysis and decision support to further the Federation’s mission.

Purpose:
 
The Tax & Compliance Senior Specialist will monitor and prepare federal, state and local tax and compliance filings. They will be responsible for coordinating these filings through research, internal and external communications, and data compilation to support the team's success and build the reputation of PPFA as organized and committed to its mission. 

Delivery:
 
● Prepare materials and relevant resources for filings undertaken by the team, including but not limited to Forms 990, UBIT, and FEC filings for PAC and PP Votes.

● Monitor and prepare state and local tax & compliance registrations and exemptions.

● Perform federal, state, and local tax research and monitor changes in laws and regulations.

● Track and maintain tax & compliance calendar, including updating/curating tasks.

● Assist with responses to federal, state, and local agency notices, including writing letters and/or calling the agencies directly. 

● Assisting with ad hoc projects about tax & compliance.

Engagement:
 
● Acquire/research information that supports analysis and provides depth and relevance to the project.

● Engage stakeholders across all levels of the National Office and external parties on identifying deliverables, timeframes, and expectations regarding service delivery.

● Explain approaches/steps in the provision of service and expectations regarding deliverables

● Make the team aware of operational issues in project execution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
 
● Bachelor's or Master's degree required. Accounting, Finance, or related degree preferred.

● Minimum 2-3 years of experience.

● Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a dynamic, fast-moving team, completing multiple tasks with poise, accuracy, and confidence.

● Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

● Strong oral and written communication skills.

● High proficiency in Google products.

● Flexibility and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities and ambiguous situations.

Travel: 0% - 20% domestic

$75,000 - $80,000 a year
