Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.
About the Digital Products team: The Planned Parenthood Digital Products team provides reliable and scalable applications and technology programs and services in support of health care delivery, sex education, advocacy, fundraising, and internal operations. Digital Products is part of the Global Strategy and Innovation (GSI) division at PPFA.
About this role: The Director of Operations, Digital Products, will lead strategy, planning and delivery of the team’s operational and communications portfolio, ensuring that programs, systems and processes are managed efficiently and effectively. The Director of Operations, will report to the Vice President of Digital Products.
Purpose (Measure of Success):
The Director of Operations, Digital Products, will be successful if they develop, organize, implement and communicate operational processes and procedures, ensuring highly successful program management, team engagement, and continuous improvement across the entire digital products team by delivering on strategic goals and PPFA’s mission.
Delivery:The Director of Operations, Digital Products, is responsible for delivering:
● A strategic operational and communication program framework that supports team, division and organizational strategic goals - providing transparency, continuous prioritization and optimization.
● Managing alignment of annual program objectives and key results (OKRs) that connect to organizational goals and identify measurement, growth, and learning opportunities driven by quantitative and qualitative metrics. Present and evangelize strategies and OKRs within the Digital Products team and across partner teams.
● Detailed written and verbal communication about the performance and functionality of our flagship digital products to relevant stakeholders and audiences, including PPFA leadership and affiliate partners. Includes preparation of various monthly, quarterly and annual operational reports on team roadmaps and productivity, program delivery, risks and impediments, trends and opportunities.
● Supervision and oversight of onboarding new personnel, improving visibility around team opportunities and professional development programs for Digital Products staff -- including, but not limited to, the organization of team meetings and retreats, maintaining a library of operational best practices, recommended courses, trainings and activities, planning and managing structure for presentations and attending conferences.
● Planning and management of the annual department budget, in collaboration with VP of Digital Products, GSI Managing Director, team directors and finance, including: annual budgeting and reforecasting; expenditures and variances; and grants reporting in collaboration with the Development team.
● Develop and maintain vendor and contract management program in collaboration with GSI Managing Director, including documentation and relationship management, RFP, NDA, and new vendor intake.
Engagement:
● Development, delivery and optimization of an operational and communication program framework that supports cross-functional teams, division and organizational collaboration and transparency. Includes management of program documentation and reporting, product marketing and newsletters.
● Maintain positive and collaborative relationships within the GSI division, across PPFA’s technology groups, communication and culture, operations, finance, legal departments, ancillary and affiliate partners; demonstrating a clear understanding of program and business needs with a focus on successful delivery of value and impact.
● Vocal collaborator on the Digital Products leadership team with the Vice President, Digital Products, and program leads. Collaboration with the leadership group on goal-setting, monitoring progress and achievements, and long-term process planning/re-engineering.
● Potential manager to several direct reports ranging from Specialist to Associate Director levels.
● Influencer, mentor, and problem-solver for the entire Digital Products team.
● Primary point of contact for the Digital Products team’s vendors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
The Director of Operations will demonstrate the following:
● 7+ years extensive experience in operational leadership, project and program management, digital product and technology delivery, communications or other relevant roles/skills where attention to detail, managing priorities, identifying risks, developing solutions and measuring impact are critical.
●Knowledge of diverse groups, experience working with a multicultural workforce, sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences is required. This includes having a strong race equity lens and experience in application of program design, decision, and engagement.
● Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate and engage effectively across various stakeholder groups, including affiliate and external partners, vendors, cross divisional teams, senior management and executive level personnel
●High level written and verbal communication skills necessary to facilitate team meetings, produce newsletters, presentations, procedural documentation, agendas, etc.
●Creative thinking backed by strong analytical and problem-solving skills
●Experience managing teams and mentoring direct reports.

TRAVEL : Occasional
$140,000 - $155,000 a year
Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program. Total offer package to include generous vacation + sick leave + paid holidays, individual/family provided medical, dental and vision benefits effective day 1, life insurance, short/long term disability, paid family leave and 401k. We also offer voluntary opt in for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Transportation/Commuter accounts.
