Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey, Inc. (PPNCSNJ) provides comprehensive reproductive and sexual health care, abortion services, education and information to women, men and teens at 17 health centers throughout 18 counties in New Jersey.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey is the statewide 501c4 representing Planned Parenthood of Northern Central and Southern New Jersey and Planned Parenthood Metropolitan New Jersey. We advocate on behalf of the tens of thousands of patients who receive care at any of our 22 health centers throughout New Jersey. 

We are seeking a passionate, detail oriented, individual for a summer research internship to further advance our mission. 

The internship will last from May to August 2023. The intern will be expected to work 20 hours a week.
 
The intern is a researcher and data lover at heart, they are interested in finding creative solutions to complex problems and well versed in reproductive health issues. They will work directly with the Government Relations team reporting to the Deputy Director of Policy and Communications and will perform a range of duties, including, but not limited to the following:
 
•Conduct research regarding the landscape of reproductive health access in New Jersey.
•Plan and carry out data collection and data analysis.
•Determine research questions, data sources, variables to be used, data collection strategies, analysis to be undertaken and analytic techniques, including statistical or qualitative approaches to be applied.
•Contribute to report writing and synthesizing data into compelling collateral. 
•Work closely with the communications team to create reports and collateral based on report findings to share with the public, legislators, coalition partners, and other stakeholders.
•Partner with the government relations team to develop policy priorities based on research findings using a health equity and reproductive justice lens.
•Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
•Students currently completing an MPA, MPP, or MPH strongly preferred.
•Bachelors degree in the social sciences, gender studies, political science, or other related field.
•Interest in reproductive health, rights, and justice.
•Experience in carrying out research on sexual and reproductive health policy.
•Strong commitment to and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion and the intersection of health and racial justice.
•Ability to identify priorities, work independently, and as part of a team spread out across the state. 

We require all of our employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19. All employees and patients must wear a mask when onsite.

This internship will telework throughout New Jersey with occasional travel throughout the state required.

Salary: $20/hour
