Picture yourself here: When you join PPGNY as the Director of Training, you will be responsible for supporting initiatives focused on providing education and skills-based training to professionals internally and externally. 

Additional responsibilities:

    • Manage programs that provide responsive and relevant professional training and technical assistance related to sexuality education and related topics.
    • Lead efforts to ensure sexuality education content, within the Education and Training Department, is responsive to community needs, data-driven, is rooted in racial justice and equity frameworks and is inclusive and accessible.
    • Coordinate intra-departmental collaboration on curriculum development, revision and staff training.  
    • Working with the AVP, support business development efforts to expand Training Institute (TI) audience and professional development opportunities and revenue at the local, regional and national across public, private and nonprofit sectors.    
    • Oversee the development and marketing of program materials, including manuals, videos and other learning tools.  
    • Serve as an Education and Training Department trainer for internal and external training design and facilitation efforts.
    • Coordinate the “Educator Academy,” an internal training initiative and support educator onboarding training.
    • Monitor programmatic performance and adherence to grant requirements including: ensuring deliverables and outcomes are met; monitoring related budgets; and ensuring accurate and compliant completion of grant/funder reports for internal and external purposes. 
    • Serve on local, regional and national coalitions and task-forces, as needed. 
    • Hire, supervise, train, support, observe, and develop the Training Institute Manager and Professional Programs Manager to ensure all program staff is well equipped to deliver high-quality programming. 
    • Provide training and technical assistance to Education and Training staff and broader professional networks in partnership with the Training Institute on topics related to sexual and reproductive health, racial justice, accessibility and youth programming, etc.

You Have:

    • Bachelors’ Degree
    • 5+ years of work experience in program development and management for education and/or sexual and reproductive health and justice. 2+ years experience supervising and/or coaching preferred.
    • Experience in program planning, curriculum development/instructional design (using Universal Design for Learning, Adult Learning Theory, Positive Youth Development and accessibility frameworks), and training and facilitation and demonstrated strong conceptual thinking skills in order to build cohesive and complimentary programs.  
    • Experience with communities impacted by adverse health outcomes, knowledge of systemic barriers to sexual reproductive health and wellbeing faced by marginalized communities especially women, LGBTQAI+ folks, poor/working class, people with disabilities, and communities of color. 
    • Business development experience including identifying prospective partners and drafting project budgets and work plans.  
    • Skilled communicator who can connect with young people, adult community members, administrators, funders, etc. 
    • Strengths in cultural responsiveness, strategic communication, problem-solving, and team development.

Compensation

    • $80,000-84,000
$80,000 - $84,000 a year

All positions at PPGNY require:
Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season and Covid-19) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
