 Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) seeks a full-time Health Center Assistant Manager in Overland Park for this 21st century health care provider and advocacy organization dedicated to upholding the standard for providing high quality sexual and reproductive health care, providing education that promotes informed proud and authentic sexuality, and changing the culture through proactive advocacy to ensure equality in reproductive and sexual decision making.

Reporting to the Health Center Manager, this position is responsible for the co-supervision of day to day clinical operations, supporting high-quality, patient - focused care delivery which includes abortion services. Additionally the incumbent insures the efficient flow of the clinic operations and provides administrative leadership to all staff and patient service areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversees all front office business functions, including outstanding customer service delivery, the completion of insurance verification, and manages in-office billing and fee collections.
    • Creates a culture of exceptional customer service by continually exceeding our patient’s expectations, properly maintaining and cultivating positive relationships with patients, clinicians and fellow employees.
    • Learn all duties of clinic staff and help to cover in the event of PTO or sick time and manage the operations and staff in the absence of Health Center Manager.
    • Monitors health center flow and strives to maximize efficiencies and productivity.
    • Ensures accurate completion of health center records and coordinates documentation.
    • Responds to questions from patients and insurance companies regarding patient visits and billing. 
    • Maintains confidentiality of all agency information, employee nonpublic personal information (NPI) and personal health information (PHI), as well as records directly or indirectly identifying person currently or formerly receiving services from PPGP.
    • Leads initiations and implementations of new processes and services including service delivery enhancements.
    •  In absence of the Health Center Manager insures that the Medical Director, Vice President of Health Services, Regional Director of Health Center Operations, and Director of Compliance and Quality Risk Management, and other Medical Management teams as needed, are aware of health center incidents and/or occurrences.  Ensures Health Center staff understand and comply with reporting guidelines.
    • In the absence of the Health Center Manager completes monthly chart audits and turns the report in to the Regional Director of Health Center Operations by close of business Friday, the first week of the following month.  The report must reflect action plans appropriate for findings and at least 90% compliance must be maintained. 
    • Assures staff and company compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations relating to care delivery.
    • Achieves clinic goals and objectives including financial, customer service and productivity.
    • Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed to maintain and improve effective health center functioning and to advance PPGP’s mission. 

    • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • No direct reports. In the absence of HCM the incumbent will be required to supervise Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, Nurses, and Front Desk staff 

QUALIFICATIONS

    • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training, supervisory experience in a health or clinical health care settings, familiarity with medical terminology, demonstrated ability in leading, motivating, and managing staff, experience with high-volume transaction medical or clinical practice environments in which customer service and satisfaction are priorities, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
    • Administrative experience in an Ambulatory Surgical Center or Reproductive Health Services Clinic, hospital or other related clinical setting, and a minimum of one year supervisory experience preferred

    • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret general professional periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  

    • COMPUTER SKILLS
    • Ability to work with computer software, including: MS Word and Excel.  Preferred experience with health service software.
