Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) seeks a part time Pharmacy Director for this 21st century health care provider and advocacy organization dedicated to upholding the standard for providing high quality sexual and reproductive health care, providing education that promotes informed proud and authentic sexuality, and changing the culture through proactive advocacy to ensure equality in reproductive and sexual decision making.
The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for implementing best practices related to prescribing and dispensing of medications while fulfilling all state and federal legal requirements. The Director leads efforts to improve patient safety and experience, provide education and support for staff members, and build and maintain relationships with community partners. This position is based in Overland Park, Kansas, but occasional travel to PPGP’s health centers in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain legal requirements and inspections for hospital drug roomswithin the affiliate in partnership with Director of Compliance and Quality Risk Management
- Monitor and complete process prior authorization requests, including performing drug utilization reviews and writing appeal letters
- Provide expertise related to prescription storage and dispensing across the PPGP affiliate including patient safety, cost reduction, inventory management (monthly federation meeting)
- Service as a source of drug information and continuing education for PPGP staff and providers through in-service presentations, handouts, and newsletters
- Perform special projects as needed and serve on affiliate committees (Patient Experience Committee, JEDI Council, Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee, Primary Care Team, & Emergency Response Team)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree or higher
- Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in Kansas
- Two years’ experience in an OB/GYN setting preferred
- Ability to provide courteous, professional service to patients, visitors and staff
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Prior, working experience with Electronic Medical Records systems; Epic software experience preferred

$65 - $70 an hour
