Position Summary:
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for patient check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, and administrative tasks that support smooth health center operations. This position requires strong communication skills, a positive and empathetic attitude, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism.

Position is full-time, 37.5 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

    • Front Desk & Patient Access
    • Welcome patients, guests, and escorts with warm, respectful service.
    • Perform check-in and check-out duties, verifying insurance eligibility and ensuring accurate documentation.
    • Manage patient inquiries efficiently and compassionately, ensuring smooth communication.
    • Administrative & Scheduling Support:
    • Schedule appointments, monitor upcoming visits, and proactively contact patients.
    • Maintain electronic health records with precision and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
    • Assist with patient refill requests and contraceptive supply sales
    • Customer Service & Team Collaboration:
    • Handle patient concerns professionally, escalating as needed for resolution.
    • Support new staff training, guiding them through procedures and best practices.
    • Maintain a welcoming and organized waiting area for patients and visitors.

Qualifications:

    • ✅ High School Diploma/GED required.
    • 1–3 years of customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
    • ✅ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records preferred.
    • ✅ Strong communication skills with an ability to maintain a calm, courteous demeanor under pressure.
    • ✅ Passion for health equity, patient advocacy, and inclusive care.
    • ✅ Availability for morning, evening, and Saturday shifts as assigned.
$21.50 - $21.50 an hour
This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
