Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Development will lead a dynamic team and oversee all aspects of fundraising, including major gifts, annual giving, institutional partnerships, and donor engagement. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in collaborative environments and is passionate about reproductive health, equity, and justice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Development Department, including Annual Giving, Institutional Giving, Events, and Operations.
- Partner with the President & CEO to design and execute long-term fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Cultivate and steward a portfolio of major donors, driving engagement and philanthropic investment.
- Oversee donor communications and campaigns, including direct mail, digital appeals, and impact reporting.
- Provide strategic leadership to the Major Gifts team and senior development staff.
- Plan and execute signature fundraising events, including the Celebration of Choices gala.
- Engage with the Board’s Development Committee and key volunteers to foster a culture of philanthropy.
- Represent the organization at donor meetings, community events, and public forums.
- Ensure ethical, data-informed, and equity-centered fundraising practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive fundraising experience, with expertise in major gifts and campaign leadership.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams in mission-driven settings.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills; confident in donor-facing roles.
- Deep understanding of the philanthropic and political landscape surrounding reproductive health.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in fundraising strategy and team culture.
- Proficiency in fundraising CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) and donor analytics.
- Passion for our mission and values, with availability for evening/weekend donor engagements.
$150,000 - $150,000 a year
Based on 37.5 hours/week

Roles that are denoted as Hybrid require 1 day per week in the office unless the role is denoted as onsite, which requires working onsite full time or 5 days per week.
