POSITION SUMMARY:
The Health Care Assistant (HCA) plays a crucial role in delivering culturally responsive patient care. This position involves medical assisting, lab work, and administrative support, helping ensure every patient receives quality, respectful care in a welcoming environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Patient Care and Support
    • Provide empathetic, culturally competent patient support while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
    • Collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals to optimize patient experience.
    • Record vital signs and document medical history with sensitivity to health disparities.
    • Laboratory and Specimen Management 
    • Perform venipuncture and lab testing with a commitment to patient safety and dignity.
    • Ensure lab records and samples are handled with care and precision.
    • Administrative and Advocacy Duties
    • Schedule appointments and provide language-accessible triage services.
    • Support patient navigation, ensuring equitable access to care.
    • Engage in community-centered outreach and health education efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • ✅ High School Diploma/GED required; Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.
    • ✅ Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply (Mandarin, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, or Portuguese).
    • ✅ Passionate about health equity, reproductive justice, and inclusive care.
    • ✅ Comfortable working with diverse patient populations in fast-paced environments
    • ✅ Strong organizational skills and commitment to racial and gender equity.
$21.50 - $21.50 an hour
This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
