JOB SUMMARY
While this position is telehealth focused, the provider will also be expected to perform additional duties to support clinical operations.

Under the medical supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and day-to-day supervision by the Health Center Manager, the Advanced Clinical Provider will function as the primary provider of medical services for patients on both telehealth and in clinic.

The Advanced Clinical Provider will be responsible for the initiation and maintenance of patients in the family planning regimen, as well as provide leadership in all aspects of comprehensive clinical and telehealth services. Each Provider functions within the approved guidelines established by the CMO and as outlined in Affiliate Medical Manual of Standards and Guidelines. 

 COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
HOURS: 40 Hours per week
PAY: $48.00/hour entry. Rates are based on experience and credentialing!

 INCOME PROTECTION:
Basic Life & AD&D with salary coverage starts within 90 days of employment that PPMT pays for. Supplemental Life & AD&D offered. Long-Term and Short-Term Disability is 66.66% of earnings and PPMT pays this benefit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Record and interpret the medical and social history of patients both in person and on telehealth.
    • Perform appropriate medical screening procedures for patient examinations. This includes speculum examination, bimanual examination obtaining of materials for STD investigation, cytological smears (and other specimens as indicated) and other types of more specialized screening procedures as may be indicated by clinical medical policy.
    • Examine patients for proper use of contraceptives.
    • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients per PPFA Medical Standards and Guidelines.
    • Prescribe all FDA approved methods of birth control. This includes but is not limited to diaphragm and cervical cap fitting, IUC insertions and removals, Nexplanon insertions and removals, and dispensing contraceptive supplies and medications.
    • Interpret laboratory data and order appropriate additional laboratory investigations as indicated.
    • Provide patient referrals as needed.
    • Refer patients with abnormal conditions or other medical problems found on the examination to the supervising physician, when not covered by standing orders.
    • Prescribe emergency contraception.
    • Participate in the follow-up of abnormal pap smears, positive STI tests or other abnormal lab tests.
    • Perform medication abortions.
    • Perform/interpret ultrasounds for gestational dating, abortion, and IUC placement.
    • Assist in abortion procedures.

    • Education
    • Provide education on all FDA approved birth control methods to patients and handle patient questions and problems relating to these methods in a factual, unbiased manner.
    • Provide medically accurate education and counsel on abortion in a factual, unbiased manner.
    • Participate in PPMT in-service educational activities.
    • Carry out group and individual teaching demonstrations as needed.

    • Clinical Team Effectiveness
    • Participate in a team centered approach to patient care, being cognizant of and responsive to the needs of the patients and the entire clinical team.
    • Understand and work together as a team member to reach PPMT productivity goals of 4 clients per hour per provider.
    • Assist with training clinical staff in health center operations, workflow, environmental maintenance, and health education.
    • Participate in health center staff meetings.

    • Clinical Operations
    • Maintain and monitor quality of patient records; ensure inclusion of all appropriate findings, recommendations, and charges.
    • Identify process improvements for the overall functioning and workflow of the health center as well as telehealth services and make suggestions to the Health Center Manager and CMO.
    • Maintain emergency response supplies and materials.

    • Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with all PPFA, National Abortion Federation, and PPMT policies and standard operating procedures. 
    • Ensure all PPFA and PPMT guidelines and protocols are followed regarding all services. (Including but not limited to medical standards and guidelines, customer standards, personnel, fiscal, risk management, safety/security, pharmacy, and quality assurance).
    • Clients shall not be subject to coercion in use of any particular method of Family Planning.
    • Staff may be subject to prosecution if they coerce or they try to coerce any person to undergo abortion or sterilization procedures.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:

    • Understands and works together as a team to meet PPMT productivity goals of 4 clients per hour per provider. Productivity results for each center will be shared by your manager and staff monthly. Annual performance monitoring for patient service staff will include an assessment of whether or not established productivity goals have been met.
    • Understands the financial aspects of our business and maintains focus on cost effectiveness and ultimately stewardship.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education and/or Experience --
    • Montana License or certification for advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with the state.
    • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant training and subsequent experience in reproductive healthcare.
    • Current DEA License with prescriptive authority.
    • Current CPR License.
$48 - $48 an hour
Entry level is $48.00/hour. Higher compensation is based on experience, credentials and other qualifications.
