Planned Parenthood Vermont Action Fund (PPVTAF) is hiring one intern for the following campus Bennington College to assist existing Planned Parenthood Generation Action Teams in their work to cultivate and manage activists and volunteers, raise public awareness of sexual and reproductive health issues, and represent Planned Parenthood at public events. Interns are required to commit to 10-15 hours a week during their college/university’s Spring and Fall semesters.  Intern will receive a stipend to cover the cost of expenses during the duration of the internship.  

Characteristic Responsibilities:
Promote PPNNE’s products and services as a health care provider (C3), and issues relevant to PPVTAF mission as a political force (C4) on campus
Develop and seek opportunities to empower campus students to advocate for continuing and advancing sexual and reproductive health care access for all Vermonters
Collaborate with Generation Action Team and PPVTAF staff to create effective messaging, language, and materials
Leverage advocacy campaigns through community outreach and organizing activities
Assist Generation Action Team in their goals and planning events on campus
Create and nurture alliances with other student and community groups that promotes Planned Parenthood Generation Action’s partnerships
Build and strengthen relationships with local health center staff with campus
Be willing to ask questions, think creatively, and challenge Generation Action Team in order to be a successful team
Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork
Be willing to listen and contribute to Generation Action Team and PPVTAF discussion and decision-making
Incorporate customer satisfaction into all aspects of operation.
Interest in sexual and reproductive health care, education, and advocacy
Excellent writing and research skills
Commitment to a team orientation
Computer literacy.  Experience with databases essential
Experience working with volunteers
Ability to speak publicly
Knowledge of VT politics and issue-based campaign work preferred
Strong project management and organizational skills
Strong track record for taking initiative
·Ability to work professionally in an office environment and as a team
·Ability to lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less
·Ability to sit or stand for long durations when needed
Ability to use basic office equipment
Ability to communicate with the public about PPNNE health services, mission, and goals
Ability to work with staff remotely
