POSITION: Licensed Health Center Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: Regional Operations Manager
SCHEDULE: The schedule may vary, but will generally be five days a week and must have flexibility to cover health center needs, including evenings and Saturdays.
PAY RANGE: $87314.82 - $98961.32 / year
SUMMARY: The Health Center Manager will establish and maintain a professional, supportive, and caring environment for their health center staff and patients which includes a focus on patient care, efficient operations, staff development, and customer service. They will create and achieve clinical, operational, and financial goals for the health center and support the mission of PPRM.
Licensed Health Center Managers at Complex Tier Health Centers are salaried, exempt.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Associate of Nursing minimum requirement.
- 3-5 years direct supervision of staff.
- 3-5 years administrative business operations management experience.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the state board of nursing.
- CPR certification required
- ACLS certification required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operations
- Directs the overall management of the health center with daily audit and maintenance of operational, clinical, and regulatory compliance protocols.
- Promotes and models professionalism, especially in times of escalation, suspicious encounters, and reportable abuse.
- Manages the operational workflow of abortion care and family planning services provided to ensure benchmarks are met and patient care is delivered efficiently.
- Adheres to Team Centered Patient Care (TCPC) strategies including conducting briefs, huddles, and debriefs to facilitate team communication.
- Monitors health center flow to ensure quality patient care, timely appointments, minimize flow busters, and reduce staff burnout.
- Designs and monitors appointment templates to accomplish access benchmarks & budget goals.
- Participates in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.).
- Markets and promotes health center by interacting with client representatives, providing site tours and participating in other potential opportunities as needed.
- Assesses facility needs and coordinates cleanliness, maintenance, and improvements as needed.
- Maintains health center security system.
- Liaises with local law enforcement as needed.
- Monitors facility compliance with city building/business requirements.
- Understands, monitors, and maintains compliance with all regulatory procedural, policy, and licensing requirements (CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, Minor Abuse Reporting, Pharmacy, etc.).
- Administers controlled drug program in collaboration with Clinical Quality Management (QM).
- Monitors clinical and regulatory protocols at site, recognizing areas for concern, and identifying processes for improvement.
- Acts as Quality Care and Patient Safety advocate, identifying potential risks and mitigating in collaboration with QM.
- Coordinates the completion of Incident Reports and aids in the investigation and resolution of
- patient complaints.
- Manages medical records archiving and destruction in coordination with Legal Department.
- Manages internal budget by reviewing monthly expenses, supply and equipment purchases, managing inventory, medication, and cash logs.
- Prepares regular financial reports for submission to accounting
- Manages a large team of licensed and un-licensed staff, with direct supervision of all
- Registered Nurses, Clinicians, and Assistant Health Center Managers at the site location.
- Facilitates staff meetings, where updates and implementation to policies and procedures are
- introduced and reviewed with staff.
- Monitors performance and development, compiling information for annual reviews and providing in the moment feedback, correction, appraisal, and coaching.
- Responsible for talent acquisition, and ensuring the successful orientation and onboarding of new health center staff at site location.
- Follows appropriate processes for staff management including staff development and performance management.
- Coordinates staff privileging and compliance requirements with QM.
- Develops work schedules, monitors, and approves timecards for non-exempt direct reports.
- Supervises volunteer program, including scheduling and training (escorts, HCAP).
- Regularly meets with direct reports to identify successes, challenges, and develop growth.
- Collaborates with the human resources department when staff need a leave of absence or accommodation.
- Provides professional development, training, and tools to ensure compliance and performance.
- Works to foster positive and productive communication and culture with and among staff.
- Promotes the Values and Service Standards, holds employees accountable to these standards and values, and leads by example.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with employment laws such as discrimination and harassment in collaboration with HR.
- Reviews and analyzes employment data, such as engagement and turnover, and identifies areas for improvement.
- Monitors department budget and spends responsibly.
- Monitors, gathers, and reports on department data.
- Implements facility policy within department; identifies and resolves potential conflicts.
- Audits functions throughout department to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Communicates regularly on department successes, needs, obstacles, and recommendations.

COVID-19 Vaccine: PPRM requires that all employees are fully vaccinated as a condition of employment. An employee is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or one dose of a single- dose vaccination (Johnson and Johnson/Janssen). Proof must be uploaded upon starting. You will upload a picture or pdf of your vaccination card(s) on your first day of orientation.
Flu Protocol: All employees working directly with patients or working in a health center will be required to have the flu shot or wear a mask during patient contact or while in the health center from October 1 – April 30 each year (Flu Season). The flu shot will be available to health center employees in the health center in addition to being able to seek the flu vaccine externally through the medical plan or reimbursement.
