The Purpose:
As a Staff Engineer in the Boarding domain at PPRO, your mission is to design, build, and maintain the robust and scalable systems that enable our partners to seamlessly integrate with our platform. This role is critical to PPRO's strategy by ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding experience, which directly impacts our ability to attract and retain key partners and expand our global reach.
Your Impact in this role:
- We make things better: You will lead the design and implementation of highly-scalable and resilient boarding systems, continuously seeking opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and the overall partner experience.
- We act with trust and integrity: You will ensure the security and compliance of our boarding processes, safeguarding sensitive partner data and upholding PPRO's commitment to the highest standards.
- We work as a team: You will collaborate closely with product managers, and other engineering teams to define and deliver innovative boarding solutions, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- We put the customer first: You will champion the needs of our partners throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring our boarding processes are intuitive, user-friendly, and meet their evolving requirements.
- We get things done: You will take ownership of complex technical challenges, driving projects from conception to completion and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality boarding solutions.

- Java / Spring Boot
- Microservices Architecture
- RESTful APIs
- Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Databases (SQL and NoSQL)
- Messaging Queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
What would make you a great fit:
- Proven experience in designing and building complex, distributed systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency in Java and experience with modern frameworks like Spring Boot.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture and best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms and a passion for building scalable and resilient infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to mentor and lead.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in the payments industry or a related fintech domain.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
