The Purpose:

As Senior Engineering Manager for our Acquiring Platform-as-a-Service (APaaS) team, you’ll lead engineering delivery of critical backend services that power how we onboard, configure, and serve acquiring partners globally. You'll also act as the Córdoba site lead, helping shape and lead one of our key global engineering hubs while fostering strong collaboration, inclusion, and technical excellence. This is a rare opportunity to lead a platform team, own delivery with real customer impact, and build a strong local team culture, all in one role.

What You'll Do:

    • Lead Engineering Delivery:
    • Own the technical delivery across key components of the Acquiring PaaS domain - APIs, onboarding services, configuration tools, and integrations.
    • Drive predictable execution, strong delivery velocity, and measurable product outcomes.
    • Translate strategy into roadmaps, de-risk delivery, and keep execution aligned with technical and business goals.

    • Drive Technical and Operational Excellence:
    • Set and manage to high standards for service scalability, security, and reliability (meeting SLA/SLO targets).
    • Champion architecture, observability, and code quality across services ensuring long-term platform health.
    • Lead modernization initiatives, including tech stack upgrades and removal of obsolete services.

    • Be a Product-Centric Leader
    • Partner closely with Product to align engineering outcomes with customer value.
    • Embed a customer-first mindset across the team by advocating for developer experience, usability, and platform resilience.
    • Balance product innovation with delivery discipline, prioritizing work that drives impact.

    • Serve as Córdoba Site Lead
    • Act as the senior leader for PPRO’s Córdoba site shaping team identity, local operations, and culture.
    • Foster engagement, collaboration, and alignment with global offices (Berlin, Munich, London, São Paulo, Singapore, and beyond).
    • Champion inclusion, team health, and cross-site connectedness.

    • Develop and Empower Engineering Talent
    • Mentor and grow engineers, creating an environment of trust, feedback, and continuous learning.
    • Promote clear expectations, technical career development, and high autonomy with accountability.
    • Support local hiring efforts and build a strong, diverse, mission-aligned team.

What We’re Looking For:

    • Engineering Leadership: Proven experience leading platform/backend teams, with a track record of delivering technical outcomes at scale.
    • Delivery Ownership: You can turn ambiguous goals into clear technical plans, track delivery, unblock teams, and hold the bar for excellence.
    • Product Mindset: You understand customer needs and work closely with Product to prioritise work that creates value.
    • Technical Depth: Strong background in microservices, APIs, cloud-native systems (preferably AWS), and DevOps best practices.
    • Site/People Leadership: You build team culture, support growth, and drive alignment across distributed teams.
    • Fintech/Payments Experience: A plus, particularly in regulated or high-availability environments.
    • Languages: English and Spanish (required).
