The Purpose:
As a Senior Manager within the Strategic Finance team at PPRO, you'll be instrumental in driving the financial success of our EU Commercial teams. You'll act as a pivotal financial partner, embedding yourself within the commercial organisation to provide critical insights that shape our business strategy, optimise pricing, and accelerate our go-to-market initiatives. This highly cross-functional role demands a sharp analytical mind, a knack for transforming complex data into actionable strategies, and a passion for collaborating with diverse stakeholders to achieve our ambitious growth and profitability targets across the dynamic European landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Partnering:
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to EU Commercial leadership and sales teams, providing proactive financial insights, analysis, and recommendations.
- Lead the financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes for the EU Commercial teams, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
- Develop and present comprehensive financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives, new product launches, and market expansions.
- Drive performance management by analysing key financial metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommending corrective actions.
- Translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Own commission plan management and reporting.
Pricing Strategy & Execution:
- Collaborate closely with commercial, product, and legal teams to develop and implement effective pricing strategies that optimise revenue, market share, and profitability.
- Conduct in-depth pricing analysis, including competitive benchmarking, customer willingness-to-pay studies, and elasticity analysis.
- Evaluate the financial impact of pricing changes, promotions, and discounting strategies.
- Monitor and report on pricing performance, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Lead LPM (Local Payment Method) pricing globally by providing thought leadership on pricing policies and related competitive market insights alongside internal data insights from merchant pricing outcomes.
- Oversee business cases for new LPM products.
- Improve the pricing governance structure and enforcement to align incentives of sales and price optimisation.
- Oversee communications and training to commercial account managers to educate the sales force on all matters relating to pricing; cost assumptions; margin calculations and implications of commercial negotiations.
Go-to-Market (GTM) Financial Support:
- Provide robust financial leadership and analysis for all EU go-to-market initiatives, including market entry strategies, sales channel optimisation, and marketing campaign effectiveness.
- Assess the financial viability and ROI of new GTM models and partnerships.
- Support the financial assessment and development of sales incentives and commission structures for new GTM models and partnerships, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial targets.
- Monitor and analyse GTM performance, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
You'll need to have:
- Proven experience in a similar environment (ideally payments) with extensive quantitative analysis, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making, including the ability to identify patterns and trends to guide strategy
- Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience with pricing and cost model development; deep pricing analysisStrong business and commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of P&L drivers
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders
- Confidence working cross-functionally and collaborating effectively with senior business leaders and influential stakeholders
- Ability to manage projects and initiatives from concept through to implementation, while effectively influencing stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Proficiency in SQL
