The Purpose:

As Product Director you have end to end accountability for our cards payments portfolio (card acquiring) for global (Visa, MC, AMEX) and local/regional card schemes. With your deep understanding of the products, technology, geographies and business you will develop a winning strategy, accelerate global delivery and successfully drive business growth. Think of yourself as the hands-on “CPO” of a startup within the supportive environment of PPRO, where you can succeed, fail and learn together as part of a team. 

Our mission is to simplify access to local payment methods (cards included). We connect to the local schemes, card acquirers, banks and local rails, consolidate and standardise APIs as well contracts, settlements and reporting. We process transactions locally, to obtain the best auth rates as possible, and settle merchants in the currency and country of their preference. We finetune the user experience and co-create new products together with the schemes and our customers. Ultimately we offer our customers more product features, easier access and higher success rates. Our vision is to enable the sale of goods and services to anyone in the world using their preferred way to pay.

We work in a very diverse team environment, composed of multiple cultures and timezones. 

What you will do:

    • Effectively drive and communicate the vision and set the strategic direction for our Card Payments Domain, which you will be leading;
    • Innovate, design and build market leading products; set the industry standard and compete with the biggest payment players in the world;
    • Head up the PMs within your Domain (direct reports) and teams working on delivery and discovery of our card payments portfolio in multiple regions worldwide
    • Ensure we have a winning product strategy and highly efficient, industrialised product delivery to maximise business value and ROI
    • Develop trusting relationships with key customers and senior leaders to understand business needs and deliver meaningful outcomes
    • Create and sustain an environment of creativity and inclusion; challenge the status quo to encourage innovation.
    • Manage your teams like a conductor - succeed, fail and learn together as one-team

What we look for in you:

    • Mastered, highly effective leadership of multiple, cross functional teams in a fast paced, global environment.
    • An exceptional product mindset, eager to constantly learn and innovate, solve the impossible and develop products our customers love
    • Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to efficiently deliver and scale products that drive significant customer and business value together with your teams 
    • A passion for payments, deep experience in the commercial, technical and financial dimensions of local payments
    • Excellent communication skills, ability to listen, excite and influence a broad range of internal and external key-decision makers.
    • Lead with courage and modesty, you have a track record of attracting and developing great talent and leadership to scale and optimise yourself and your teams
    • English is a must. Spanish/Portuguese are nice to have.
