As PPRO embarks on the next stage of its growth plans, we have identified the need to build awareness and create a ‘pull’ across the Global merchant space. The VP of Market and Commercial Development will be instrumental in defining and delivering the strategy to ensure PPRO’s solution is considered, requested and specified by the end merchant. The VP of Market and Commercial Development will need to be a thought leader in the payment space and ideally a number of verticals, having worked in the sector for a minimum of 15 years. He/she will know how to architect a successful partnership that will drive revenues and accelerate solution distribution, whilst navigating sensitively around the payment ecosystem to ensure existing partners - PSPs, Financial Institutions, Payment Gateways, etc are not disintermediated.

This is a key role for PPRO and we are looking for a talented, experienced leader who is highly consultative, action-oriented, understands the global alternative payments landscape and ready to deliver transformational growth expectations. They will need the credibility and communication skills to build relationships at the highest levels as well as the ability to be hands-on to make things happen in a fast-growing entrepreneurial organisation. 

What will you be doing: 
The focus is on creating awareness and demand for PPRO’s proposition and products within the merchant space whilst being conscious that our strategy remains to serve these ‘customers’ through third parties.  The individual will need to define the sector focus, priorities and build a team to penetrate the market opportunities.  He/she will also build relationships with PPRO’s strategic partners and be able to articulate the merchant’s requirements.

    • Develop market/sector strategies 
    • Design and construct analytical frameworks to make decisions and identify verticals  and top prospects within these verticals; create strategic, business and financial rationale and analytics in support of these
    • Develop a strategy for ISV, market places and deliver against agreed KPIs
    • Drive business development for identified merchants and collaborate closely with other commercial stakeholders 
    • Drive C-Suite engagement at key partners with respect to supporting x-sell/upselling to their merchant portfolio  
    • Set and monitor KPIs that will drive growth, merchant satisfaction and team and individual performance and align with rest of the global sales management team
    • Develop strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders across PPRO to build consensus, define priorities and develop clear plans to ensure we deliver against our strategic goals
    • Be a thought leader within the Fintech space from the perspective of the merchant thereby playing a key role in defining value-added services and product enhancements 
    • With the support of marketing, create whitepapers, trend analysis and strategic insights which are sector leading and engage prospects
    • Provide support where needed on winning new business opportunities through PPRO’s partner channels
    • Be the ambassadorial face of the PPRO brand within the defined verticals

You'll need to have:

    • A depth of experience within e-commerce, knowledge of key global merchants, the PSP and acquiring markets, and an understanding of local payment methods beyond credit cards
    • Expertise in 2-3 key verticals 
    • Proven success in identifying, negotiating and closing complex deals
    • Ability to influence at c-suite level 
    • Proven success achieving team and individual sales targets 
    • Ability to inspire with proven leadership experience
    • Significant experience in developing sales strategies 
    • Strong financial acumen
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to consult and collaborate with different stakeholders across the organization
    • Creative, self-motivated, target-oriented and have a hands-on mentality
    • Fluent in English language both orally and in writing. Fluent in additional languages is an advantage.
