What's interesting about this job? 
The Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day online presence of Planned Parenthood South Atlantic (PPSAT) and Planned Parenthood Votes! South Atlantic (PPVSAT). They will be the organization’s primary designer and producer of digital content used to achieve shared goals across the organization and uphold Planned Parenthood’s high brand standards, including marketing health services, engaging a broad base of supporters, and building political power. They manage the day-to-day social media presence across every platform, including planning content, monitoring engagement, and moderating comments and messages. The Digital Content Coordinator tracks social media trends and provides timely recommendations to the marketing and communications team. The Digital Content Coordinator will represent the organization online, appearing in videos and responding to patients, supporters, and other community members.

Who You Are:

    • Bachelor’s degree or three years of experience in a related field will be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Fiercely passionate and knowledgeable about reproductive health care equity & justice.
    • At least 1 year of experience working in social media management (paid or unpaid).
    • Proficiency in all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter/X
    • Skilled in identifying social media trends and adapting to new platforms (e.g. Threads).
    • Experience with Canva, Inkscape, Adobe Photoshop, or another graphic design platform.
    • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and create engaging content.
    • Comfortable appearing in videos for social media.
    • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
    • Based in NC, SC, VA, or WVA
    • Highly adaptable.
    • Creative, a self-starter, and love memes.

    • Preferred (not required):
    • Proficient in a second language, such as Spanish.
    • Knowledgeable about policy and legislation impacting bodily autonomy and reproductive health care.
    • Based in NC

What You’ll Do (but not limited to):

    • Proactively create and identify quarterly opportunities to grow PPSAT/PPVSAT’s social media presence, such as monitoring emerging trends, creating memes, and collaborating with partners; contribute to yearly digital strategy.
    • Develop and manage a content calendar, planning ahead by at least three months to ensure we are ready for peaks, events, and observances.
    • Create engaging, creative content designed for specific platforms and trends, such as videos and audio for a podcast.
    • Carefully shape language and information used in external messages to ensure a consistent, clear voice that flows through PPSAT/PPVSAT’s social media channels.
    • Daily monitoring of all accounts for comments, troll moderation, direct messages, and posting content.
    • Monitor PPSAT sites like Yelp, Google, and Facebook for health center reviews, patient feedback, and comment moderation. With guidance from the Director of Marketing, respond directly to patient messages and comments on health center Facebook pages and other platforms.
    • Live post key legislative moments and other events; Attend events in-person
    • Co-manage PPSAT and PPVSAT websites to ensure accurate and up-to-date content
    • Update the organization’s intranet, The Loop, regularly with new information and correct out-of-date information; Assist departments with new content and contribute to a dynamic intranet.
    • Manage other online forms, like action forms and event forms 
    • Curate video footage from key PPSAT and PPVSAT events for internal and external use, including but not limited to fundraisers, community education events, legislative hearings, and other advocacy events to create compelling video content.
    •  Provide digital support to the field organizing team for virtual and in-person events.
    • Collaborate cross-departmentally within PPSAT to advise on and implement digital communications.
    • Collaborate across the entire Planned Parenthood federation with affiliate digital staff across the country to strategize around best digital practices.
    • Ensure all digital communications are consistent with Planned Parenthood’s high brand standards.
    • Collaborate with other PPSAT/PPVSAT departments on larger digital projects and serve as a liaison with PPFA regarding broader digital strategy.
    • Utilize other digital tools as directed
Schedule:
This is a remote position that requires travel. Candidate must be based within PPSAT's service area of NC, SC, VA, WVA.
Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
Requires some evening & weekend work

Compensation:
PPSAT's compensation philosophy is based on equity and transparency. Each job at PPSAT is assigned to a salary grade built on market data. For an individual coming into PPSAT, we set a pay generally between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary grade, based on the candidate's qualifications. For this position, the minimum is $24.50 and the midpoint is $29.50 per hour
