Health Care Assistant - General Application

  • 1) Planned Parenthood South Atlantic is a local affiliate of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. We are a sexual and reproductive healthcare provider with 14 health centers in our territory of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. We provide services to a diverse population of patients, serving people ages 12 and up, of all genders, sexual orientations, races and socio-economic backgrounds. Many of our patients are from marginalized and underserved communities, including communities of color and the LGBTQ community. Our services include - but are not limited to - breast exams, cervical cancer screenings, gynecological care, birth control , emergency contraception, pregnancy testing and options counseling, STI testing and treatment, HIV testing and counseling, and transgender hormone therapy. We also provide abortion services at several of our health centers. Are you comfortable with the full range of services that PPSAT provides?✱

  • a) Performing blood draws?✱
  • b) Obtaining sexual history from patients?✱
  • c) Discussing sexually transmitted infections and number of sexual partners with a patient?✱
  • d) Working with abortion patients by providing patient education, assisting during procedures, working in the lab and giving post care instructions. Assisting during procedures would include supporting patients by holding their hand, providing reassurance, etc.✱
  • e) Providing care to transgender and gender-diverse patients, including provision of gender-affirming hormone therapy?✱
  • f) Dealing with protesters when entering and leaving clinic?✱
  • 5) What EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems do you have experience in?✱
  • 6) Is there anything more that you would like to share about yourself or experience?✱
