Planned Parenthood South Atlantic (PPSAT) is seeking a Clinician to work in our Health Center located in Charlottesville, VA.  PPSAT believes sexual health is essential to every person’s overall health, well-being, and happiness. The Clinician provides direct patient care in family planning and abortion services in accordance with PPSAT’s mission and values and consistent with standards set forth by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. They will provide general healthcare, health maintenance, education, and counseling to patients. The Clinician also provides general health care to transgender and gender-diverse patients, including provision of gender-affirming hormone therapy.  They serve as the primary clinical go-to person for CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) and HCA (Health Center Assistant) staff, facilitating flow of patients, directing staff to appropriate resources for the management of clinical issues, emergencies, and operational issues. They work closely with the Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director of Family Planning, and the Chief Medical Officer to monitor and improve the efficiency and quality of family planning and abortion services. The Clinician will participate in after-hours call duty for procedure-related emergencies, based on a rotating schedule.

Hours/Schedule: This is an opportunity to work 30 to 34 hours a week at the following schedule: 

Tuesday: 7:30 am - 3:00 pm
Wednesday: 9:30 am - 6:00 pm 
Thursday: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm 
Friday: 7:30 am - 1:00 pm

License or certification for Nurse Practitioner (CNM, FNP or WHNP) within the state of health center/s assigned: North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and/or West Virginia. Family Nurse Practitioner training and subsequent experience in reproductive health care.  CPR certification must be kept up to date throughout employment. One to five years’ relevant medical experience, preferably in gynecology. Excellent communication skills, “bedside manner” and ability to establish professional rapport with clients, coworkers, and communities of diverse backgrounds.  Willing to learn new skills, apply new techniques, technologies, and approaches in pursuit of quality, innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.  Must be willing to respond to changing needs of the health center, department, organization, and community.  
Salary: PPSAT’s compensation philosophy is based in equity and transparency. Built from data driven compensation studies, our positions are placed within a developed pay grade structure. This position’s minimum pay rate is $43.50 an hour with starting offers being determined by both the candidate’s experience and internal equity within the assigned pay grade. 
Saturday differential of additional $7.00 per hour.
