Scope of Work:
The Regional Organizer is responsible for building grassroots support and volunteer leaders to advance advocacy campaigns supporting Planned Parenthood policy priorities and protect and promote access to reproductive health care. The Regional Organizer serves as the primary contact with volunteers, supporters, and community partners in and around Tallahassee.  This position is responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with community partners and local Planned Parenthood volunteers to advance the mission of Planned Parenthood.  This position requires frequent travel across the service area, occasional travel to other parts of the state and a flexible schedule including nights and weekends to meet the needs of the community and volunteers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of strategies to carry out advocacy campaigns, building a large activist, volunteer and coalition partner network to support a broader regional and statewide advocacy agenda.
    • Responsible for building, training and facilitating local Planned Parenthood “Leadership Action Teams” 
    • Responsible for executing work plans to meet goals and objectives, measures progress using defined metrics.
    • Responsible for growing and managing voter and supporter contact programs implementing and utilizing cutting edge programs including voter file management, micro-targeting, voter ID programs, phone programs, and integrated social media.
    • Incorporates new and current organizing tactics in campaigns, providing leadership and direction for volunteers and coalition partners.
    • Responsible for cultivating a broad range of important coalition and grasstops contacts and engages them in Planned Parenthood advocacy campaigns.
    • Responsible for recruiting, selecting and training volunteers and supporters to meet with elected officials, including representing Planned Parenthood at events.
    • Execute supporter contact programs utilizing the Voter Action Network (VAN)
    • Excellent research, editing, presentation, analytical and writing skills, in multiple lengths and formats and to multiple audiences.
    • Commitment to inter- and intra-agency teamwork.
    • Energetic, creative, motivated, a self-starter, and able to function productively and effectively with a high degree of autonomy.
    • Must be able to travel within the entire service area.
    • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
    • Ability to set priorities and organize concurrent projects, meet deadlines, handle pressure, manage multiple projects and time effectively, exercise independent judgment and assume responsibility for reliable follow through.
    • Ability to be a team player as well as a leader.
    • Ability to gracefully manage a high level of stress, multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university in Women’s Studies, Political Science, Public Policy or another closely related field or equivalent experience.
    • A minimum of 1-2 years of issue based, grass-roots volunteer organizing experience.
    • Experience developing and maintaining credible and productive relationships with elected officials, coalition partners and volunteers.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

    • Compensation range: Starting at $48,000.00/year
    • Eligible for all applicable benefits effective the first of the month following 60 days from your hire date.
    • Paid Time Off, accrues immediately but can't be taken until after 90 full days of employment : 3 weeks of paid time off, 10 recognized Holidays in addition to PTO, 1 personal day, and birthday.
