POSITION GOAL: The purpose of this position is to provide under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer comprehensive women’s health care in the areas of gynecology, sexually transmitted disease, family planning/contraceptive counseling, surgical services, and mid-life services as well as leadership and training to the clinical staff.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Functions as the primary designee by the Chief Medical Officer regarding the clinical management of specific clients. Also serves as the liaison between the Chief Medical Officer and clinicians.

    • Adheres to and administers affiliate QRM Program to ensure PPFA, state, local, federal and requirements are met or exceeded.
    • Support the affiliate’s financial goals by maximizing revenue and expense management.
    • Participate in implementation of the strategic vision for medical services and suggest service expansion, clinician training, facility design/location, etc.
    • Provides and reinforces Affiliates principles and focus on providing the highest quality of care within the parameters of the Medical Standards and Guidelines and meeting the Affiliate’s customer service standards.
    • Provides guidance and leadership to all clinical staff as necessary.
    • Actively sources and evaluates research opportunities for the Affiliate participation.
    • Participates in national and local conferences in alignment with role and responsibilities at the Affiliate upon request.
    • Review clinical information, professional literature, educational media and shares pertinent information with all Affiliate health care providers.
    • Supports and strives to achieve Affiliate’s goals and objectives for ensuring a positive patient experience.

PRECEPTING

    • Promotes an organizational culture that embraces the affiliate’s workplace values of respect, caring, support, effective communication, teamwork, collaboration, accountability and responsibility; and works with staff to create and maintain a workplace environment reflective of these values.
    • Provides (and designates licensed staff to provide) agency orientation, teaching, training and coaching for licensed staff.
    • Serves as Lab Director for the affiliate as required.
    • Provides training for specialty services including, but not limited to, Ultrasound, Colposcopy/LEEP and surgical and medical terminations.
    • Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the agency by adhering to established agency policies and practices.
    • Addresses provider training needs as requested by Chief Medical Officer or other Affiliate Leadership.
    • Provides ongoing technical assistance and in-service training for licensed and unlicensed staff on an intermittent basis in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and VP Clinical Care and Compliance.
    • Maintain productivity expectations, premier patient experience and compliance standards of the agency

PROVIDER:

    • Regularly participate in the delivery of high quality clinical care both surgical and non-surgical services while assuring high quality services and consistently positive patient experience.
    • Perform medical screening procedures as appropriate for PPSENFL clients and
    • Perform gynecological and STI examinations and screening examinations including thyroid, heart, lungs, abdomen, extremities, breast, genital and pelvic examinations following the service guidelines in the Affiliate Medical Standards and Guidelines.
    • Participate in in-service training, volunteer training and community education as needed.
    • Initiate problem solving to ensure smooth health center flow.
    • Work independently to maintain up-to-date knowledge in the health care field via attending seminars and workshops, and reading relevant material.
    • Provide direct patient care to patients including full spectrum family planning services and medical and first and second trimester surgical abortion services.

Skills and experience required

    • Must meet requirements for performing colposcopies as outlined in the PPSENFL Medical Protocols.
    • Must be granted  clinical privileges for all services performed by the PPSENFL Chief Medical Officer or the designee with a copy kept in the personnel file.
    • Must follow protocols for performing colposcopies as outlined in the PPSENFL Medical Protocols.
    • Must be available to perform colposcopies at all PPSENFL designated colposcopy sites.
    • Must be able to provide medication and  surgical termination services.
    • Must follow PPSENFL protocols in providing  all services. 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

    • Requires MD or DO from accredited institution and hold a Florida State License.
    • Must comply with licensure requirements for practice capacity and have current license in practicing states (Florida) with a minimum of 3  years of clinical experience as a health care provider in Women’s health or Family Practice.  
    • Ability to provide or willingness to learn vasectomy care is a plus.
    • Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills in professional activities.  
    • Must be willing to travel to multiple locations in Northern Florida on a weekly.  
    • Must have prescriptive authority with current licensure.  Professional, positive attitude with proven ability to contribute effectively to highly functioning work teams.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Requires Board Certified MD or DO from accredited institution and hold a Florida Medical State License.

Must comply with licensure requirements for practice capacity and have current license in practicing states (Florida) with experience as a health care provider in Women’s health or Family Practice.

Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills in professional activities. Must have prescriptive authority with current licensure. Professional, positive attitude with proven ability to contribute effectively to highly functioning work teams.
