Position Summary: Planned Parenthood of Southern New England has an opening for a Per Diem (Saturdays) Recovery Room Registered Nurse in our West Hartford, CT and New Haven, CT.

Qualifications

    • Must be licensed in the state of Connecticut and have experience in women’s health issues
    • Must have at least 1 year of experience in a fast paced clinic setting
    • Must have Saturday availability
    • Willingness to travel to New Haven and West Hartford
    • Must have good interpersonal skills communicating with patients and co-workers
    • Must be committed to providing quality healthcare and excellent customer service
    • Must have shown reliability and dependability
    • Bi-lingual English/Spanish or bi-cultural candidate preferred

    • Supports the agency’s mission and all of the reproductive health services offered including family planning services, women’s health screenings, testing and treatment of STI’s, birth control methods and abortion services
    • Supports efforts of the agency’s diversity program to provide services that are culturally and linguistically competent; takes the initiative to develop own awareness and knowledge of diversity matters
    • Works well with volunteers and interns to achieve the agency’s mission. May supervise interns and volunteers
    • Completes all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies, and standard practices in the areas of customer service, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs 

Essential Functions

    • Responsible for assisting the Clinician in the direct care of patients within protocols established by PPSNE
    • Participates in the provision of all PPSNE medical services including in-clinic abortion and abortion by pill services
    • Responsible for providing and overseeing patient care in the recovery area with an emphasis on patient safety and comfort
    • Provides direct patient care as needed including injections, patient support, phlebotomy, and laboratory work
    • Provides education and information to patients in conjunction with the clinical component of their visit Manages the lab space to ensure supplies are up-to-date and are maintained according to quality control standards
    • Provides follow up care under the direction of the medical providers
$38 - $38 an hour
Hourly Rate: $38.00
