PPWP operates five health centers located in Allegheny, Westmoreland, and Cambria Counties and provides education and advocacy services throughout western Pennsylvania.

POSITIONSUMMARY
Provides reproductive and sexual health services to patients across the gender spectrums including physical exams, medical history taking and patient-centered counseling. Works in cooperation with the Health Center Manager to ensure health center operations meet agency standards. This position works in the Bridgeville clinic.

· Provides medical services, contraceptive, reproductive and sexual health services, according to the standards and guidelines of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the protocols of Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania.
· Works with the Laboratory Director to ensure that all test methodologies are appropriate, and that the center(s) is providing patient results. Verification procedures for each test are adequate to determine performance characteristics, including precision and accuracy (as appropriate).
· Designates the performance of quality control procedures.
· Ensures materials used in the laboratory are correctly labeled with the substance and date and are stored and used according to the manufacturers’ directions.
· Coordinates and oversees the training of testing personnel.
· Reviews and evaluates the clinical lab performance of all lab staff annually as a part of their annual review.
· Interprets laboratory tests and orders additional diagnostic tests when indicated for sexual health conditions. Makes appropriate referrals for clinical findings that require additional care.
· Understands and participates in centralized administrative work, such as medical abortion follow up, laboratory results review and follow up, patient phone calls and Pills by Mail.
· Consults with the Medical Director for abnormal findings or conditions that are outside scope of the PPWP Medical Standards and Guidelines.
· Prescribes medications including all FDA approved birth control methods, and schedule III medications with a DEA license for the care of transgender and gender expansive patients, according to PPFA guidelines/protocols and collaborative agreement with the state.
· Serve as a professional role model, preceptor and mentor to other clinicians as applicable.
· Assists with training and performance assessments for healthcare assistants at assigned health center locations as needed.
· Initiates or assists in the delivery of emergency care in accordance with established procedures.
· Complies with all CLIA and OSHA regulations.
· Participates in PPWP’s Risk and Quality Management program.
· Knowledge of and participation in the PPWP Child Abuse Reporting Policy, including submitting mandated child abuse reports to children.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS&ABILITIES
Education/Licenses:
Currently licensed in the state of Pennsylvania as a certified registered nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwife.
· Must have prescriptive authority with current licensure.
· Must have or be eligible for DEA license.
· Must have a current Pennsylvania Driver’s license and transportation to travel to PPWP health centers.
