Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the design and development of GIS applications, tools, and workflows.
- Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop and maintain geospatial databases and data models.
Implement data visualization techniques to present spatial information effectively.
- Conduct testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and performance of GIS applications.
- Support the deployment and integration of GIS solutions with existing systems.
- Stay updated on emerging GIS technologies and best practices.
- Research new and innovative ways to capture, integrate, filter and display data from many different sources and methods.
- Work with extremely short timelines.


Requirements: 
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or a related field.
- 4+ years in a strong understanding of GIS concepts and principles.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
- A strong background in geospatial technology, with expertise in metadata standards, ISO standards, and Survey123.
- Familiarity with geospatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML) and spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with web mapping libraries/frameworks (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, ArcGIS API for JavaScript).
- Knowledge of geospatial analysis techniques and tools.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and GIS cloud services.
- Previous experience or coursework in software development or GIS development projects.
- Due to the nature of the work we support, all candidates in consideration for this role must be U.S. Citizens willing to undergo the government issued background investigation process.
$75,000 - $110,000 a year
