Primary is looking for an Associate Sales Director to drive our growing wholesale and marketplace channels. This person will maximize sales within our existing accounts and identify new accounts and opportunities that align with our brand positioning and growth targets. They will be responsible for onboarding, monitoring performance, and maintaining relationships with all wholesale and marketplace accounts. They will work cross-functionally to incorporate insights into product development and will be pivotal in developing processes to efficiently grow Primary’s presence across these distribution channels. Ideally, this individual will work on a hybrid basis from our NYC HQ with our merch, design, and sourcing teams.

Here are some things you will do and own:

    • Oversee all wholesale and marketplace relationships, serving as primary internal and external point of contact, supporting ongoing relationships and seeking out and onboarding new accounts.
    • Develop channel reporting and provide regular business updates, including monthly sales reviews, to Primary leadership.
    • Clearly communicate project deliverables, timelines, milestones, and results across the organization.
    • Partner with the Operations and Engineering teams to ensure efficient fulfillment and technology capabilities support channel requirements. Share sales insights and customer feedback with Design and Merchandising teams to incorporate sales opportunities into new product development.
    • Partner with the Planning team on pre-season buys and in-season forecasting.
    • Manage all Primary assets across partner websites, including imagery, copy, and sequencing.
    • Regularly audit and track inbound and outbound shipments; effectively monitor sales and stock levels with key accounts.
    • Act as liaison between wholesale accounts and the Design, Merchandising, and Sourcing teams on production and delivery timelines.
    • Work with Marketing teams to optimize partner selling tools and evaluate promotional opportunities.

Your Experience Includes:

    • Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in wholesale sales development
    • Experience with marketplace platforms (e.g., Mirakl, Faire, Looker, Shopify) preferred
    • Children’s apparel experience preferred
    • Clear history of cross-functional collaboration and partnership across teams (e.g., design, merchandising, marketing, operations, technology, finance)
    • Track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth

We are also looking for:

    • Analytical agility, with an ability to turn data into clear and actionable insights
    • Ability to thrive in an environment that may be ambiguous and/or evolving
    • Strategic thinking, including proven project management and organization skills
    • Ability to express ideas clearly in person/virtually and in writing
$110,000 - $130,000 a year
