A "maintenance technician in the print industry" is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing various printing equipment like presses, folders, and finishing machines, ensuring optimal production efficiency by identifying and fixing malfunctions while adhering to safety protocols and keeping updated with new technologies within the printing industry. 

Key responsibilities may include:
Preventative maintenance:
Conducting regular inspections and servicing of printing equipment to prevent breakdowns, including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacements. 
Troubleshooting and repair:
Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on printing presses, feeders, delivery systems, and other related equipment. 
Calibration adjustments:
Maintaining color accuracy and print quality by adjusting machine settings and calibrating printing presses. 
Parts replacement:
Ordering and installing necessary replacement parts for repairs. 
Documentation and reporting:
Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. 
Safety compliance:
Following all safety procedures and ensuring proper machine guarding to prevent accidents. 
Technical knowledge:
Staying updated with new printing technologies, equipment upgrades, and industry best practices.

Mechanical aptitude:
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including gears, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
